I think we should enter Level 6 restrictions which would require the closure of the covid testing centres - no human contact at all allowed ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 754 ✭✭✭Locotastic

Niall, when people talk of health systems collapsing, they're not suggesting the hospitals will crumble to the ground.

It's about people not being able to receive treatment for all sorts of ailments, as capacity has been breached.
This has happened numerous times all over the world, and is happening in multiple countries right now.

Sure its been happening here for years.

Hospitals send patients to other hospitals all the time, do you think this is a collapse.

You trying to say it's a sign things are running normally?

    This is what you said:

You do know nearly every other country in the world is more open than us, and not one, not a single one has had a catastrophe in their health system. Not a single ****en one.

I was just trying to show how it does have an impact on healthcare systems showing where it has happened.

To different countries? Not typically unless for some special procedures for example a patient in Ireland going to London for a heart transplant not due to capacity.

Average wait time before covid was up to 10 hours in A and E, we had 100s on trolleys, people left to die on trolleys, out of curiosity do you consider this as a collapse. By the way I do respect your opinion, I think your wrong but do respect it.

Do you think the solutions is to add hundreds of covid patients into the mix?

It's been asked and answered a thousand times.

We have data on it now. It doesn't support your argument.

I can’t understand it. A few times over the last few months I’ve had a slight runny nose, sore throat maybe. Never crossed my mind to go for a bloody test. Why in the name of god would you add to the hysteria. Just avoid people ffs.

Everybody say hello to the reason you're stuck indoors.

Eh, they literally said they avoid people

A positive test won’t magically prevent transmission

In fact travelling to get tested is increasing risk of transmission

If there is no proper plan put in place soon then everyone bar the Kool Aid drinkers will just not care anymore. We need a light at the end of the tunnel. Martin is an absolute cowardly pathetic excuse of someone supposed to be the leader of the country. Where is he? Instead we have to keep listening to Dr Doomahan. A man who revels in the misery of this virus.

When can we mark the date for the next movement of the goalpost? August? September?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,068 ✭✭✭Tipsy McSwagger

The UK will be vaccinating dogs to use them up by the time our lot administer it to 1 million people.

Substantial protests and violence tonight in Bristol over plans to give police more powers to deal with protests. Main police station was attacked and windows smashed, and police cars and vans were set on fire. Some officers have broken arms and ribs.

Mass gatherings / protests are currently banned under the coronavirus legislation.

You need to have a test though to either give to work to get paid or to get sick benefit. And workplaces need to know if you are out with covid. No wonder cases are rising again if people are advising others to not have a test jyst to make numbers look good.

Yeah because telling people to try even harder and hold firmer is going to win back over the public. Jesus.

that level of violence is unacceptable but the politicians and gardai don't know they're born with how compliant and sedate the people here have been so far

Imagine what the protests in the UK would be like if they had our fools in charge, imagine Tony H telling them to try a little harder.

And surely most that suspect it want to know, especially if they are in contact with elderly relatives or those with underlying conditions?
