What's funny is that you think the virus acts in a systematic fashion, like a line of code being executed. That's true.

You also however think humans act in a similar fashion which is devoid of any truth whatsoever.

Apologies,I glossed over Les Blu's,they are, certaiment,a bunch of revolutionaries at heart.

    I respectfully disagree.

There is now quite clearly a requirement for additional and futher reaching powers.

If,as you suggest "We" are going to remain as we are, then the current impositions ARE not working, and indeed Cannot work, simply due to the numbers of people who are returning to activity, both business and social.

Human's are by nature social, and the critical mass of those returning to basic human interaction, will present the Authorities with a problem.

    But,then again,maybe It'll be grand ?

17 deaths recorded in the UK today. The lowest daily death figure since last September.

    Guardian 20th January 2021:
UK reports 1,820 more Covid deaths, the most recorded in one day.

This is amazing progress. The vaccine is really beginning to kick in.

What further reaching powers do you suggest? Where is the money going to come from for the policing of these new powers?

The reality is that Government and NPHET have lost a lot of the public. It beggars belief how anyone thought it was a good idea to shut everything down except for essential shops for this long without losing the people. The perpetual lockdown has caused all of these problems.

There are no tools left for the Government or NPHET and further restrictions would be the last straw. I know the zero covid and ISAG nuts want to kill off whatever is left of our economy but if the government proceed with further restrictions then the country will descend into chaos.

This madness cannot continue any further. Time to open back up.

Some on here want Ireland to create a police force akin to the SS. Why people are actively asking for a Dystopia is baffling.

As I said earlier, many posters on here are hugely sceptical of the likes of Ballyfermot residents setting up clubs such as this....

    https://www.echo.ie/ballyfermot/article/running-club-vow-to-keep-going-after-gardai-attend-race-event?fbclid=IwAR2ZQYY1iAANg4h1GV0e4yGpc5ReHmR4gG2-orWjTjUV6XSrlkPl0PYPYrQ

Expect a rush of folks reacting with horror to a photo of Humans being ...Human...It's against regulations and MUST be suppressed !

    https://www.echo.ie/images/2021/March/Trotters-Running-Club_1.jpg

Again,my question for these people is,where will the State get the manpower to suppress the numbers who ARE reclaiming their freedoms
    ?

Also worth pointing out that the UK testing rate was doubled in the past week. AZ has smashed covid. Will be interesting to see how the roadmap is pushed to be shortened for those lucky enough to live in the UK.

    Rave to the grave

    Perhaps...perhaps not.

Some could fall off their bicycle en route home...some might develop a cough,or lose their taste (in music perhaps ?) others, perhaps the majority will experience no symptoms at all, maybe even catch nothing.....?

But that's the mad,non-conformist,wild-eyed Dutch for you...Craaaaazy people altogether.

Good to see smiling faces in public again though...:D

Never mind DeValera's dreams,I'm far more interested in what's being discussed at THIS Cabinet...

    https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2021/0322/1205433-donohoe-at-dublin-economics-workshop/
Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe has said any possible changes to Covid-19 restrictions will be "gradual and cautious".

Mr Donohoe compared today's situation to last November and said the Government had learned "how challenging" it is to deliver the "equilibrium" between opening up the economy and society and keeping the virus under control.

All sounding nice and consensual, nothing to worry unnecessarily about..?

    Some new bit's too....
He said we will need to retain a higher level of intensive care in the public health system and a testing and tracing capacity.

Mind you I'm not sure Minister Donohue pondered long over the HSE's own 2009 report into the capacity issue....

    https://www.hse.ie/eng/services/publications/clinical-strategy-and-programmes/towards-excellence-in-critical-care-report.pdf
The number of critical care beds should be increased by 45% from 289 to 418 beds. This will need to increase sequentially to 579 over the period 2010to 2020

Are we even half way towards that 2009 Target ?

Perhaps some passing Media person might ask the Minister ?

However, the most intriguing of Mr Donohue's remarks, appears to have slipped by unnoticed..
Some of the regulatory roles of the State may need to grow "without being bigger from an expenditure point of view", he added.

    Whatever could he mean.....?
