Yup,a few hundred were made alright.
The trouble with them is their locking /guide bars weren't properly heat treated and tend to go wonky after a while. Plus they are supposedly a "Buttstock muncher" design that crack and split the stock where it joins the metal.

Add to that the mularkey with the proof house here, and the fact the Irish Govt didn't want to pay for employing a master proofer from Birmingham, that it was cheaper to send the guns to the UK to get them proofed over there and sell them in a bigger market of the UK, where it wasn't a big hit either and the fact that Kavanaugh's went into liquidation during all this, and it all fell apart after that.

However,I think the Irish govt will be forced soon enough to have to relook all this proof house legislation as it is now too expensive to send guns to the UK for proofing or deacting or to the Continent as well.about 400 euros per gun now for a round trip to Liege or Ulm,and god knows what sort of a waiting period to test them as well,if they are pushing alternative ammo to lead.As you wont be even able to sell your gun without it being in proof under EU law.

Or as soon as someone is wearing a bolt in their head from some Irish "gunsmith" [Who does a sideline in making fine cattle grids!]creation and their next of kin is suing the gun plumber for product liability.

They'll make a thundering ball-of-wax of it like everything else. It'll become a cash cow like the NCT.

Except under EU law it has to be a govt dept...As you are affixing a state symbol to a firearm. So you cant pawn it off to Johnny Fuxsticks TD's brother in law who has a gunshop or was in the FCA. in some private/public partnership. As well as having to employ a master proofer with qualifications whereupon the ultimate responsibility would lie. we all know how many vehicle inspectors..AKA mechanics who found being a mechanic too challenging in day to day life have been employed by the NCT , with fun and games and hilarity has ensued because of it.
