while also maintaining the strongest economic growth in Europe

    Wait, what now? You sure?
GDP growth by Member State Romania(+4.8%) and Malta(+3.8%) recorded the sharpest increases of GDP compared to the previous quarter, followed by Croatia and Greece(both +2.7%). The strongest declines were observed in Ireland (-5.1%) and Austria(-2.7%), followed by Italy(-1.9%) and France(-1.4%).

And I'm no Economic expert but a quick Google search found the above..

This is how it should have been done: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/24/how-taiwan-triumphed-over-covid-as-uk-faltered

We never had control of the airports or ports, test & trace collapsed, coupled with opening things up at Christmas, no wonder it didn't turn out well.

Closing everything for 6 weeks and then re-opening 3 weeks before Christmas was beyond stupid. People felt compelled to socialise and shop in a small window of time. Remember even before we reopened for Christmas we were informed by Leo and Co we would be locking down again in January.

So once again we have a day of leaks along with rampant speculation and fear mongering while MM sits on his thumb waiting for his prime time slot to announce everything.

Why the fvck are we still in this idiotic cycle of meetings and decisions being made days prior to the actual announcement? This is what pisses people off and gets them anxious and scared.\

All of today the papers, radio, tv and websites will be full of ministers and backbenches saying what they want or would like to see in the next months just to get their face or voice involved while they get peoples hopes up for something that likely wont happen. It weakens the whole system but they keep god damn doing it.

They have refused to learn absolutely fvcking anything the last few months.

Nphet should meet in the morning then immediately present their advice to cabinet who decide in the afternoon and that way MM still gets his piddly little prime time slot thats so important to him. Its not that bloody hard.

Where are you getting that stat?

This link suggest otherwise (sort by Fatality Rate or Deaths per 100k)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_death_rates_by_country

96.14 deaths per 100k according to that table, which seems fairly up-to-date, places us 42nd highest of the 177 countries listed assuming all 177 countries are being honest with the figures
