I have a circular barrel style composter. I notice of late, with the increasing temperatures that a lot of worms are climbing up to the top of it and dying there.
Should I drill some holes in there so that when they get to the top, they have a way of getting out?

    The heat is killing them.

Yes, the heat is deadly to worms! Just pour water into the compost (1-2 times a day) and drill holes in the barrel
