Issue with new motherboard. Bent pin on cpu?

Have a pc with an issue so replaced the mobo. After replacing the pc would only boot for a fraction of a second and just die. Took it apart and everything seemed ok, but on inspection of the CPU there seems to be a pin bent. Probably an obvious answer to this but would this cause the pc to only boot then immediately turn…

Yep.

Some pins you could cut away and nothing would happen (not used on all chips on that socket) others are critical and will prevent POST. The wrong bent pin could reverse polarity in a trace and kill a CPU.

Pins can be bent back if you're really really careful. Its easier on systems that have pads in the socket and pins on the CPU die but both are possible.

Get a card and go in between the pins easing them back into place carefully
