They can also leave (the country) as soon as their asylum applications is declined (which seems to be a significant % of them). They aren’t forced to appeal and thereby extend their stay here.

"Under the new proposal, applicants will be housed in state-run reception centres for four months before those still waiting for a decision to be made will be moved to own-door or own-room accommodation such as houses or apartments.

The advisory group’s report said that an average of 3,500 people applied for protection each year over the period 2017-2019.

Applications can take years and a 2017 Supreme Court case found that one man spent almost a decade in the system before being granted refugee status. The government said the current median overall time for an initial recommendation is 20 months.

Applicants and their families will also be offered improved access to welfare, education and health services in a plan that will cost up to 672 million euros ($814.7m), mainly for construction."

They are laughing at us and recruiting / advertising for us.

The health service will be overwhelmed by ‘AIDs tourism’.

A significant % of AIDs cases are from so called ‘new Irish’.

“Among the diagnoses in 2018, 42% were previously diagnosed with HIV in another country”

“89% of people who had a previous HIV diagnoses transferred their HIV care from abroad to Ireland.”

“Among those not previously diagnosed abroad 49% were late presenters including 30% who presented with advanced HIV infection.”

“Of the diagnoses in 2018, 21% (n=109) were born in Ireland, 71% (n=370) were born abroad and 8% (n=44) did not have information on country of birth.”

In a generation Ireland will be a ****hole.

RTE primetime did a piece on rented accommodation in Dublin, now that was substandard accommodation. Bunk beds cramed into rooms with zero privacy and a shared toilet.

The residents were also emigrants, but theses are the lads delivering your "just eat", serving coffee, cleaning your house, etc.. This is proper exploitation of the working class, but utterly invisible to the middle class **** and supposedly "leftist" activists.

The Middle Class "Socialists" that make up the Modern Far Left don't give a **** about the working class.

    They despise them.

    There you have it folks.
It has been advertised worldwide in the split of a second.
Imagine if you are a murderer or a rapist on the African or Indian sub-continent and watching this news on Al Jazeera. A free home and welfare payments for life, with no chance of deportation even when they find out the true story.

I feel so sorry for our kids and the generations to come who will have to pay the consequences for Roderic O' Gorman's decision to open up our borders with no cap for free housing for all who want to come to our little island.
I lament for the future of our country.

Another childless politician making a disastrous decision that will affect the future of our children.

There is certainly a trend emerging. The previous minister for children was a geriatric, childless lesbian. The current one, a middle aged, childless gay man.

Apparently, both had / have minimal interest in their assigned brief, instead investing their energies in lowering the barriers to asylum seeking. It’s remarkable that two individuals with no stake in the future, ascended to the position of minister for children. What’s less surprising, is that both were / are utterly negligent in fulfilling their duties and are instead intent on delivering a society that will be a cold house for future generations of Irish children.

It certainly is. The only positive is O’Gorman’s ‘system’ will collapse within a single digit number of years, finally forcing.a robust conversation on immigration in this country.

Let’s hope it happens before the damage inflicted is irrevocable.

They just gave themselves a pay rise ..... to get their salaries over €100,000 per year, so they don't give a sheeeeet about us. And they will do anything to keep the gravy train going, no matter what the cost. We are seeing the cost now.

It is so disheartening when you think about it. But we can change it if there is a collective effort. Let them know that we are not happy about free homes for everyone from all corners of the world who wants to come here. Tell our elective officials to stand up for us.

The last lady foisted the ‘bearded children’ on us, so she did have some interest in ‘children’. (If we pretend the were actually children.)

Setting up road blocks, attacking truckers and cars too, getting into the trucks to get over.

Nah. IMHO, it's going to be interesting. I've always felt that Irish people, especially older Irish, tend to carry an anger inside themselves, which they've been conditioned to keep a tight lid on. And while I originally thought the banking crash, and the bailouts would have caused a march on Leinster House... I suspect this debacle might actually get the ball rolling, considering everything that is likely to happen as a result of this move.

A growth in immigration by people claiming Asylum, so costs will rise significantly, since they won't be working.. and likely coming from countries with sub-par education, so there will be limited jobs for them. And so, bitterness will rise both for the poorer parts of Irish natives who get squeezed since the jobs they normally go for, are being taken... and bitterness by the migrants because they're not getting the standard of life, they expected to get when they arrived in Ireland. Its going to be a mess of epic proportions, once the services (health, transport, etc) need to pick up the demands of these needy peoples who will likely have health issues (psychological problems are apparently common).. all of which will strain the resources available, pushing natives even further back on waiting lists.

TBH, I actually think we could see the political parties be toppled by this. It'll hurt while it's happening, but considering the support the parties have been giving this initiative, this could be thing to wake Irish people up, and start looking for genuine political reform.

Hopeful thoughts after a bottle of wine. :D

That whole charade in the English channel during the summer was something else, the French and British governments were both complicit in it. Migrants in brand new rubber dinghies, new engines and the people traffickers were even kind enough to buy them new life jackets! Escorted across to a pick up point by the French navy until handed over to border Farce, back to Dover for processing then onto waiting coaches in Dover car park and then onto waiting hotels..

Definitely a backroom deal between the French and British

Ebun Joseph, hazel Chu to name 2 that really believe we are racist and should bend over backwards for anyone not Irish etc.....

Where are they planning to put all these people?
The likes of these new apartments going up everywhere owned by vulture funds and pension funds, leasing to councils for extortionate rates of rent.....

I'm working since 15, paid crazy tax, rented for 7 years and was extremely lucky to get a mortgage before covid came, of we were to be the same now we would be doomed to rent forever, I've never looked for hand outs and never got them.....

They did. Most of them turned into the Middle class.. although they still consider themselves 'working class'. Compared to the overall population, the genuine working class are tiny in size. I know working class people who are highly educated, and earn more than solicitors. working class.. In a modern nation where education is easily accessed, and versatile social mobility is a reality?

So.. it's not the working class who need to wake up. Its the middle class that needs to wake up, since they're the ones who pay for most of it.

Always find working class term funny as it tends to be used for those that don't, in a certain area and all social housing etc....

Working class should mean actual workers.

Someone, somewhere decided we needed to be multicultural, I don't know why because we have a lovely little country that's not short on social cohesiveness and no real ethnic tensions, I could travel anywhere in Ireland and you generally know what to expect with an Irish person.

People are buying into social housing funds and bit financing the building of the homes which will be delivered by the state.
The investors end up receiving inflation adjusted income.

A new type of landlord class is coming.

"Business Law Firm Ireland – Mason Hayes Curran

Social Housing - Financing and Investment trends

    Private sector investment
More recently, the Irish social housing market has been generating interest from private sector participants. Factors contributing towards increased investor appetite include:

The state backed nature of the investment means that it is considered secure and stable.

The government and stakeholders have developed and promoted new long-term leasing mechanisms which offer a 25 year income stream and inflation-linked rent increases. These features would appeal particularly to pension fund investors who are in the market for a long term yield. Please see here for our article setting out other key features of the Enhanced Long Term Social Housing Leasing Scheme.

The income stream is not as susceptible to economic fluctuations or geographic risk as other real estate investments.

Ireland continues to see significant demand in the social housing sector and that is set to increase on account of the on-going shortage in overall housing stock, the rising birth rate, low death rate and high levels of immigration.

AHBs are keen to diversify their funding base.

There is huge political appetite for investment in this area. The announcement of Budget 2021 last week saw the government’s commitment to spending €500m next year on social housing construction projects. The Land Development Agency intends to leverage state land for the construction of 150,000 houses (including social and affordable homes) over the next 20 years using public funds and by obtaining third party finance.

Social housing projects offer scope for social impact investing and investors are increasingly focusing on ESG projects"
