Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Raynal is Italy’s motm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 532 ✭✭✭wittycynic

Not disputing the accuracy of the calls (bar the Henderson try) but the refereeing and TMOing of this match is beyond frustrating. Pedantically dragging back play to correct marginal infractions might be legally correct, but it sure makes it an awful watch. Really detracts from the spectacle.

I’d recommend a trip to Italy for a 6 Nations game and I’m certain you’d revise your opinion. ;)
Something I've yet to do, but will definitely.

Surely it's time Italy are removed from this competition, they are atrocious

Theyre better than the alternatives and you could have said same about Ireland up until Italy joined in 2000 considering how bad we were

Disappointed Casey, Burns werent on far earlier

    Connors or Ringrose MOTM

Some nice passages in small doses but mostly uninspiring.

Rubbish game against rubbish opposition, pro 14 is better

As he tends to, I dreaded him being named the ref for this game.

For the 1st time in ages we're looking a bit stretched when it comes to quality on the wing

Officiating has ended it as a spectacle. Ball in play time must be in the lower quartile. Some good passages of play, but it's stop-start-stop-stop.

There was a try in that break. Pity as Casey was on the end of it.

Lowe flattering to deceive in an Irish shirt so far in his career.

Just get the mother ****ing ball in, we’ve wasted 2 sin bin periods with scrum resets.

Poor from Lowe there. I'd be a bit worried about him staying in the team for the final two games

Earls, Larmour, Lowe, Stockdale, Conway. Add in younger lads like Daly, Balacoune. We’ve loads of options.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,998 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Ah Lowe just dive on it. Was it Burns who made a hames of that link?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,098 ✭✭✭UAEguy2020

Raynal has murdered any chance of this game being free flowing.

Very few of whom are in form, plenty of players none making the Jersey their own

He’s poor Conway way ahead, he does a skip every time ,

This is Italy we’re playing, forwards driving it over, proves nothing,

In the 5 nations we’d be getting the spoon

We're not exactly at Matt Mostyn 1998-99 stage!

Not sure how long the second half has been, seems like hours

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

The team as a whole took their foot off the gas in the second half.

Disappointed by that really as we're in no position to actually do that. Needed a blow out performance and we didn't deliver that.

Still questions to be asked about overall performance

Players in poor form is quite different from being stretched tho, but fair enough.

He can but I don’t think he will cos he’ll be in the 15 jersey.

With a bit of accuracy we should be putting 70 on Italy. Who are rabble today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Macdarack

Poorer discipline than the rioters in Dublin today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,375 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Casey nearly made a complete hames of it there

They've been a rabble for a long time. England and France didn't have to play well either to beat them by 30+

Casey roaring at the ref for that penalty...no shrinking violet there!
