I've always had the idea of getting a Triumph in the back of my mind.

With the 2021 models coming out it might be time to trade in the 700GS for a nice modern classic. Post plague new start :)

Im a short rider and the bulk of the GS always keep me on my toes ... hua hua :D

The new street twin in blue would do nicely. Any triumph horror stories?

My only worry is a naked bike in the wind and rain. Sticking a screen could really mess with the look.

What are you using it for? I wouldn't buy a naked if you commute. You'll sell it in a week coming from a GS.

    A 700GS is effectively a Naked.

Adding a Flyscreen to a classic will make it just as effective

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

While you're partly right in that it's not fully faired and doesn't have a high screen, an aftermarket tall screen is easily fitted (OP probably already has one) and doesn't look out of place, plus it's half faired I wouldn't say its effectively naked, it'd be much more comfortable on the GS compared to a bonnie, trident or speed twin on the motorway to work.

If it's all urban riding a screen won't make much difference.

Go without the screen if your commute is mainly urban. The one thing that's handy for a commute is a topbox and that totally ruins the look of a naked bike.

I ended up getting a tiny foldable backpack instead. folded into not much bigger than a wallet which was dead handy if you do need to stop at a shop. Wasn't 100% waterproof, but if it's just for the odd time you need to carry somthing, it's great.

I'd go for a slightly less nice looking bike than wear a backpack when riding. If you come off the backpack can do you serious injury a top box won't.

The light backpack will break off very easily, the straps are very light
