Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi does anyone have actual experience of board and train for dogs in Ireland or NI please. I know the arguments against this but am interested to hear of anyone who has actual experiences please.

What are you looking for a board and train place to achieve with your dog?

Putting the bad side of boarding and training aside for a brief moment (unless you want me to get into it...)

I used to work in a board and train place, it was done with science based methods. The good thing about it was that we could teach a dog the foundation work of whatever the owner was looking for in particular and troubleshoot where a dog was having difficulty, the hardest part is transferring these skills to the owner. We could show someone what their dog is capable of doing with consistent training. We always put emphasis on what we do is barely even half the work, ultimately it's an owner changing their own routine and how they handle the dog going forward is what is going to make a difference in a dog's behaviour.

Don't let the idea of board and train for you dog give you unrealistic expectations. You'll still have to work and train with your dog to get the behaviours you want long term, otherwise you might as well be flushing your money down the toilet.
