Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tough one however John Lewis just edges it for me.

Sticking to 5 votes probably a good idea as pretty quiet at the minute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,145 ✭✭✭✭Caranica

An Post for me. ESB reminds me of grim times in the 80s

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,802 ✭✭✭snowgal

ooh I like both very much. I love the song in the first ad. But I have to go with ESB, as even though (as has been discussed each time!) its not actually a christmas ad, I always thought it was and as soon as I hear it, I think of Christmas! so there :D (Ive a feeling we're gonna lose it in this round though)

Esb. Going home to christmas... both in the sense of the physical journey and the mental one.

    2-2!

I'm kind of hoping that ESB will take the whole tournament, just to see DvB's reaction. :pac:

I genuinely laughed out loud at that... I however have faith that fans of Christmas such as our good selves here will ultimately choose an actual Christmas advert to win our Christmas advert competition... if we didn't what does that say about us??

that Christmas is a 'feeling', a 'memory', an 'ad', that gives us that tingly christmassy feeling, that can come from anywhere!!! (I realise this sounds soppy and sad AF, but, Im trying to neutralise this so ESB gets a chance....) also just for the craic :P

also from anything I can find online, this was the ESB christmas ad at the time??????

I love the sentiment in the ESB ad but agree, it's no Christmas Ad so its
