Odyssey White hot - insert refurb

I have my putter going on 16 or 17 years I would think. Fairly steady putter so reluctant to change so trying to refurb it. Can easily refurb the metal parts but the insert I'm a bit cautious of. Has anyone successfully refurb the white insert? as in painted it? I think its a polymer of some sort so have to be careful with…

I've an original one as well and often wondered the same but not using it currently so just sitting there.
