Cronin having a great game so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,053 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    Much better from Munster

    Good finish from Cronin

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Connacht pillars had their feet about 2ft behind the try line. They didn't push onto the try line even though they could and remain onside.

Cronin had to just dot that down.

19 tries for James Cronin, a good return!

    Munster lineout needs fixing

Why is Toland repeatedly talking/shouting over the main commentator?

    Is this on TG4?

Did he just refer to Casey as ambidextrous for using his preferred left foot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Thrashssacre

Fair dues to the ref so far, warning the players before the penalties happen, is he new?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,254 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

It's killing me having to listen to Toland here. TG4 are miles ahead of Eir.

He makes some good points on the technical parts of the game but he’s like that bloke in the pub whose by himself, had a few too many jars and won’t stop shouting at the big screen. Less is more.

Munster might need the big guns off the bench soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,254 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

2 sloppy bits of play from Carty in last 5 minutes

Munster's forwards look quite good carrying, but backplay has been pretty poor. They're not getting enough direction from the half backs. Makes sense since they're both rookies. Casey's been guilty of mistiming his pass on a few occasions.

    Dang

Could have done with that kick from Healy

The first half has sped by, Munster should start to unleash the big guns soon after the break

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Thrashssacre

Did casey just put a con back row on hia arse there??

Poor Ben Healy has had a mare

Tom Daly is having a super game for me. Great to see him performing so well since going out west. He had no luck with injuries at Leinster.

Seems to happen to a lot of players. Questionable s&c

Don't think he has had a mare (I missed up until the opening try though). He has been very average though. His pack and scrum half have given him plenty of clean quick ball and he's not really grabbing things.

I'd suggest that JJH has been playing better than this.

Best players on the park have been the Connacht locks. Both having big games. You get the impression that Munster have the upper hand overall up front though. Just a more cohesive unit.

Thornbury going very well but Dillane is really in a great run of form. Shame he’ll never break through the national team.

Doubt it's s and c. We have our own injury issues with certain players. Chance of scenery can help players with a refresh mentally. Look at oliver also in this game.

Daly suits our style of play though. Meshes well with all our other centres and has one of the most intelligent kicking games in his position amongst the four provinces imo

Or young players who are only developing are susceptible to a lot of injuries. Especially bigger players.

That was a lovely offload from Haley there if that'd played out would have been something else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,730 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Munster really starting to fling the ball around here.

    100% yellow I'm afraid

    That’s a yellow.

That’s extremely harsh on Aki. Think he went to intercept that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,254 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

Ya it was deliberate sadly. That'll be costly too.

    That’s a very harsh yellow

    Was never getting that

    Never ever a yellow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,053 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    Munster line-out no improvement

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Penalty, yes. Think it's incredibly harsh to see a yellow given for it in the opposition half. Aki was clearly looking for the intercept and shot up into the gap. He then knocked it down when he didn't make it. Deliberate knock on but I think the card is very unusual to see in that situation.

It seems the TMO is getting involved in this game. Unlike the England v Italy debacle.

Clear line break denied by a deliberately knock on. YC all day

Thornbury best player on the pitch by a mile tonight.

Looks like he robbed the coat off a teddy bear.
It’s also missing a button which is annoying me.

Healy seems to be doing a bit of a Ross Byrne a few times, hesitating on the ball and getting isolated in contact

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Healy running ahead of his support a few times now. Asking Haley to clear out Thornbury is a big ask.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,171 ✭✭✭letowski

You’d have to think Kleyn will be on here soon

That was very well read by Daly!

Bemused by that yellow. Penalty for me.

Munster halves not doing their team any favours here. Kick to nothing from Casey and if Healy is going to insist on running into second rows he need to work harder not to cough up an easy turnover.

Casey going well enough elsewhere, Healy looks poor however.
