    Murphy, you are a duck

Arm to face, harsh given the height differential but arm to face is a yellow.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,998 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Is it mitigation if your 2 foot taller than the ball carrier?? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,754 ✭✭✭degsie

Good to see Ulster using their no 16 playing in yellow!

Yeah was pretty clear once the replays were shown it was gonna be a card by the directives.

It's a bit mad though, like I'm not sure what Toner could do other than not tackle him at all. He dipped, was bent over and his arm was low.

If this isn’t in touch, that was an incredible team try!

I'd like to see the last pass again, buts thats a cracking try. Another high shot from a Leinster player

I agree with toners, but no fcuking way of that a card for JOB

    Lucky boy

I think that is a poor call. Madigan jumping was mitigation but if he didn't jump it was still into the head.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,356 ✭✭✭theVersatile

Papalii got red for that a few weeks ago.

Fair yellow though - well explained by Murphy

Great to see Baloucoune still has his speed, doesn't seem to mind toeing the touchline either

it's accidental but ref is going to give a red

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,734 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Very surprised at that. There's a bit of a rugby incident about it since the pop pass up in the air was just a complete hospital pass from Hume, and Madigan jumped into it, but the head to head contact is there.

Very lucky. Maybe I'm biased but there are too many reds for these actions.

hmmmm... I think that might be a new one for me.

YC is right as Madigan jumped at him

    Ferris really doesn't like Murphy

    VDF is going off too

Not sure about the mitigation there. JOB led with his head and would likely have nutted him either way. Think Murphy did him a favour there.

What is JOB meant to do there?

Actually lower his height in any way to make a proper tackle?

FILTHY from Max O'Reilly. Great high take, great run and offload.

    Nearly amazing try

Actually lower his height in any way to make a proper tackle?

I think in fairness when there’s a loose ball, the first reaction isn’t to lower your height. It’s split second stuff which is different to lining up a player and purposely hitting them high or being wreckless. Aki’s defence for the Samoa red was how quick the situation developed. This was even quicker. Yellow was fair for me.

I'm surprised that wasn't looked at to see if there was a free runner outside McGrath for that.
