Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Beautiful from Leinster. Some turnaround.

What a break and pass by Max O'Reilly

Another try now with this yellow and just kill the hope we gave them would be nice.

    That's a yellow for Warwick.

How many tries like that do Leinster score? It’s slightly concerning as whilst it’s great we can do that at Pro 14 level, it’s not quite as effective at highest level of Champions Cup or internationally.

Both sides have been down to 13 in this game.

    Mad stuff.

Oh my god that's not a card either

    TMO thinks red

    So does the assistant

Elbow to face, not the most impactful but with some intent

Warwick had a go at the face of Fardy too when Fardy was on the ground.

Frank really doesn't want to give a red card tonight

I think in fairness when there’s a loose ball, the first reaction isn’t to lower your height. It’s split second stuff which is different to lining up a player and purposely hitting them high or being wreckless. Aki’s defence for the Samoa red was how quick the situation developed. This was even quicker. Yellow was fair for me.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong the yellows fair alright. Just don't buy the "what can he do" argument.

Ah that should be a yellow not red

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Sub prop sent off.

Do we go to uncontested scrums?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,603 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

Munster Leinster Final it is so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

This isn't so much complaining about Murphy, but more so the directives, but this stuff is absolutely killing the game. Head contact is something that needs to be mitigated as much as possible, but jesus it's ruining games.

I don't want this to be a red.

Ulster must have pre-booked plans for the weekend of the final.

    That's poor play from McGrath.

There was a massive openside for Leinster to attack but he went to the one runner on the short side and turned it over.

Frank should've held his ground - is neck a red? Seemed low enough danger / force.

    Absolute fcuking farce.

    I dunno.

Bit surprised by some of the cards here but any contact above the chest could now be a red effectively.

The TMO didn’t sound like he agreed with Murphy for the yellow for OBrien either.

Gone too far with cards. Needs to be a type of black card now. 20 minutes off and forced sub.

You see the six nations games decided by cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinster didn't fare so well when Glasgow had a red last week.

Interesting to see if they'll be more times in this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

That's a very harsh red card.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,863 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Guarantee that's not the last card in the game either

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,708 ✭✭✭ScissorPaperRock

I hope the 20 minute replacement for a red card rule they're trialling in Super Rugby AU is adopted more broadly.

The number of games ruined by red cards these days is ridiculous.

    Coetzee's hamstring is gone.

Could be his last appearance for Ulster.

Slow motion has taken context out of these situations, for both JOBs yellow and the red. Incredibly harsh decisions

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Except if you’re Devin Toner. Or Jimmy OBrien.

Yellow or red it’s idiotic from Warwick.

An armchair tackle and an elbow to the face aren't really much of an equivalence.

I'd have had a penalty for Toner and a yellow for Warwick.

Definitely agree with others - can't ruin games because of individual mistakes. Need a card between yellow and red. Red should be for someone doing something intentional.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That should be another yellow for Ulster too.

The tackler didn't roll away or release and prevented quick ball on the try line.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,863 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Yellow or red it’s idiotic from Warwick.

If Ed Byrne had have tackled the way he's supposed to ie bend over low, then it would have been a fend

However ed goes high, the fend ends up high and its a red card.

No injury, none hurt, no "strike" to the head, but game unequal now.

Sooner they bring in 20 minute replacements the better to at least counter act some of these harsh cards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,222 ✭✭✭crisco10

    What a tackle on JOB

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Stockdale is blessed there.

Clear cut yellow that Murphy has ignored.

And Dave kearney came in and completely sealed off....

Theres illegality in nearly every phase

Great tackle but Stockdale very lucky to get away with not releasing

Murphy telling Madigan it would have been a card for him if Leinster hadn't scored. Shouldn't get away with a professional foul just cause you conceded.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Ulster will get a score before the end of the half.
