Harry had a Met police escort the other day in Windsor, and german police escort on arrival in Dusseldorf. The minute he lands in a country on any offical engagement, like charity awards or speeches, he gets a police escort while there. Now I dont know if thats considered the same as 'police protection'. But looking at clips and pics from Germany the past few days, he has a big entourage of his own security team, the Invictus games security and assistants, as well as German police. He was blue lighted from the airport to his hotel at full speed in Dusseldorf the other day. Honestly, William or Charles dont seem to have as many people around them when they walk about crowds.

I do believe Harry loves the police escorts on the roads, being whisked to venues and hotels via the VIP entarence in a luxury car with blacked out windows, and having a huge security team around his as he walks around. It must make one feel very important. I thought he hated the special.attention and hence one of the reasons to live a private life away from the RF.

So I'm very confused as to who he is ie. What is his now Diplomatic Status or royalty status. What are other countries obligations to provide him security, police escorts, etc ? All countries have protocols for when visiting heads of states, prime ministers, presidents, kings, queens, etc. Come for formal engagements. Do countries, like Germany, still trigger these protocols for Harry ? It seems to me that they do.

His status at the last games in The Netherlands was a VVIP (Very, Very). He had a combination of his own personal security and also the Dutch Royal Family protection (who were armed). They all worked together on his protection (and Meghan's protection). He paid his own security and the Dutch Royal Protection was paid by the Dutch taxpayer. Since it is an army vets event, I imagine it would be a target for terrorist attacks, so the security would be pretty high anyway.

From a big favourite information provider here - The Daily Mail.

You are talking about a pap walk he did for a pal when he was 19 or 20? 18 years ago. He had not joined the army yet, let alone done a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Fair play for finding it though!

Thats good of you that you don't mind the publicity that the Invictus games get. 😂

As for the deals with Netflix and Better Up. How would you propose he earns a living that would cover the cost of security at $3 million a year so that his family are protected?

What expenses. Presumably the German Gov. provide the accommodation (all Invictus staff are housed in the same hotel). Its up to the hosts to provide accommodation and if they want him to stay in a $100 a night hotel or a 2K hotel, I doubt if he is that interested bearing in mind he didn't complain about not having a wardrobe in his full-time accommodation cottage in Kensington Palace grounds.

You were wondering if his current unhappy demeanor stemmed from seeing an uninvited camera lens pointing at him and this was maybe part of his lingering childhood trauma. It has me wondering if he is actually traumatized by it since he was quite willing to go and get himself deliberately papped on behalf of a buddy for publicity purposes. I’d argue he isn’t traumatized by it considering he agreed with such a request multiple times. Not just the one pap walk.

He did say in Heart of Invictus that he only realised how traumatised he was by his mothers death when he was lying in a foetal position after coming home from Afghanistan. He didn't specifically mention anything about childhood camera lens trauma though.

Harry's father was the next in line. Anne was given the option of having titles for her children.

Harry lives in American and I believe Andrew is being moved to Frogmore as it's smaller.

The rest of your post is just more "Yeah, but Andrew" which has been covered ad nauseum.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,300 ✭✭✭✭jm08

He did say that the flashing of cameras at the scene of his mother's accident (paps were taking photos of her dying and not going to her aid) did traumatise him in the Netflix docuseries.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,300 ✭✭✭✭jm08

The point is that the male heirs got it automatically. The female heirs did not.

Not a hope in hell of Andrew moving out of where he is living at the moment into Frogmore. Andrew knows where all the bodies are buried.

So you think Andrew hasn't brought as much disgrace on the Royal Family as Harry and he deserves to get better treatment than Harry & his biracial wife. You have some serious problems with your moral standards!

This whataboutery again! If you cam figure out how to use the search function look for my posts about Andrew here and in the AH thread.

No apology needed when you read them. This tactic isn't going to get you anywhere.

Staging paparazzi photos at a drive through, its getting really pathetic really fast

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,744 ✭✭✭Karppi

What are the chances of a pap being inside a burger joint at the precise moment that, for the first time in years, Meghan pops by for a burger? And that the pap has a long portrait lens on the camera in their hand, ready to snap away, and the staff lean to one side allowing a clear shot of Meghan, which can be distributed by a favourite agency, Backgrid. Seriously, is she so desperate for attention?

I hope she remembered that Harry likes his Animal Style. Allegedly

  • Registered Users Posts: 727 ✭✭✭Carol25

Seriously, what is the big crime in a pap shot? Is this why you think Meghan deserves full time dehumanising hate campaign against her from the British media? Because she does things like go to get burger and fries and a pap photo? Honest to God the clutching at straws on this thread are ridiculous. Can you not see, these photos are taken to show she’s in LA at that time, not in Germany and all is apparently ‘well’ atm. Whether you want to believe that or not is another story.

What's odd that the pap is inside the building, and she's beaming straight at the camera. This is despite her husband having a huge hatred of paparazzi.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,744 ✭✭✭Karppi

Why bother with a staged visit to get (yet another) pap shot? Could it be because she craves attention? Didn’t they want to be out of the “media spotlight”.

Harry left England after spending millions in tax payers money to do up Frogmore - he paid it back and as he was no longer a working royal and had emigrated to the USA, Frogmore needed to be used for other Royals- it’s that simple.

Charles has been trying to kick Andrew out of his pad for a while now and send him to Frogmore.

Your use of the term “biracial” is quite simply farcical and hysterical - given the upset Harry alone has caused the RF, no less his wife, to say this is somehow racially motivated is just plain daft- but go the tabloid route if it makes you happy. But I’ll let you into a little secret- just because a person is an ethnicity other than Western European white, doesn’t give them licence to act like an annoying spoilt child.

That's a hilarious photo, almost looks photo shopped. All I can think is Francis Higgins going through a drive through.

Be very careful about what you call people. You have no proof that this man is what you called him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,300 ✭✭✭✭jm08

How do you know that who ever took the photo wasn't working for the restaurant? Nice promotion for them. Some small coffee/drinks company ran out of produce quickly when she endorsed their products.

She probably phoned in her order and they had a photographer waiting when she got there to collect.

Mind you, I really don't understand what the problem is with her photo being taken when they have her permission to do so. Similarly with Harry, who is getting thousands of photos taken of him at the Invictus Games. The problem is when they start sending drones over your house and hiding in the bushes with long lenses and taking photos of their children in their home.

You have no proof that he is not because he is hiding behind the skirts of the Royal Family who are more than willing to protect him.

Wasn't Eugenie and Jack using Frogmore? What other royals needed it? William has about 5 houses. He can't be using all of them at the same time. Charles something similar. All the royals except the son of the king has a home compliments of the Royal Family.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,918 ✭✭✭Oscar_Madison

We’ve no proof that you aren’t either, but you’re protected under law from those who might suggest otherwise. Like it or not, he’s innocent in the eyes of the law.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,918 ✭✭✭Oscar_Madison

You try living with 5 homes and housekeepers and cars and gardeners I wanna tell ya try it sometime

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,300 ✭✭✭✭jm08

So, why the big payoff if he is innocent? Why isn't he defending himself? Why won't he speak to the US authorities?

Thats right, he is being protected by the Royal Family.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,300 ✭✭✭✭jm08

She is getting plenty of attention now on the front page of the Daily Mail going through Los Angeles airport? 18 photos no less of her walking into an airport! 38 photos, of which about 20 are of Meghan and 18 of Harry walking around in the crowd at the Invictus Games.

No need for any staged photos for those pair. They just need to put their nose outside the house!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,918 ✭✭✭Oscar_Madison

maybe he was feeling philanthropic that day - can happen to millionaires- quite common actually

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,477 ✭✭✭valoren

Has Sky News or the Washington Post covered the Burger visit yet? Or that the DOS is en route to Dusseldorf for Invictus? Surely this is Breaking News worthy stuff here.😄

Oh wait, it's just the usual suspects (Mail Online, Page Six, People....) buying up the Back Grid pics to create some click bait/content. Didn't see that coming. 🙄

Did anyone see the podcast on YouTube of Anne, Catherine and William being interviewed on sport by Mike Tindall's podcast?

I watched it last night and I felt they all came across really well. There's some genuine family slagging going on, they talk about the importance of sport for children, and their favourite sporting moments and their own love of various sports. What is clear is that it's not just empty soundbites of what they think will sell well, they are just chatting with enthusiasm and warmth about a subject they have a genuine interest in.
