Thought there might have been a dangerous clear out from Ala'alatoa there.

Ah Ross what were you thinking kicking when we are right on their try line.

The sort of call that is OK when you're playing advantage but to just give away the 22 was very poor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinster are making a hames of their 2 man advantage. Crooked lineouts, poor support lines and dropped passes.

Ross Byrne and Conor O'Brien are having stinkers. Can understand the latter as he hasn't played in years, but Byrne has no such excuse. His kicking has been poor and he's doing nothing with ball in hand. Stand still and shipping the ball on to the next player without fixing a defender.

Zero points scored when Dragons were down to 13 men.

Incredibly poor stuff. 9 and 10 playing very poorly.

Conor O Brien looks very poor. As for Gibson Parks he can’t seem to do anything right.

Is there a change in how refs are allowing advantage. Noticed it in the Munstee game last night that attacking positions were being called back without any loss of possession close to the line. Ross Byrne was within 5m there and it was called back.

    Some woeful stuff on display

To score nothing with two extra men is criminal at this level.

Really wish the URC graphics would display how long is left on yellow cards...

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

To be honest with yellow cards refs allow teams kill time too easily and give them every borderline decision in scrums clear outs etc

Horror show first half from Conor O'Brien. JGP and Byrne not having a good game so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinsters 9, 10 and 12 have been playing like drains. Poor decisions and execution constantly. I'd sub them all out now, but with a 6/2 bench split one of Byrne or COB will have to stay on.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,748 ✭✭✭degsie

Fair play to the Dragons, some good plays from them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

O Brien is having a nightmare. Looks like a player who has never played rugby before at this level.

9, 10, 12 just not working. At all.

Pretty miserable performance in the first half :(

This is the worst Leinster game I've watched since that 3-0 scoreline win against Zebre.

Our pack was quite decent that half bar a few handling errors and a couple of pens for bad ruck entries. They dominated the territory and possession stats for 30 mins and gave a decent platform for the backs to work off. I've been impressed by the workrate of Porter and Sheehan especially.

But the half backs and inside centre have been appalling. The half backs are trying to play wide rugby when the conditions don't favour such a game. The next problem is their execution of that is so far below the required mark. Byrne especially has been poor. COB hasn't played pro rugby in almost two years so I'll be less harsh. But he's still been a black hole on possession. He's played two or three passes behind the intended recipient and they've gone to ground. He's also tried carrying but made little yardage.

Ringrose and the back three have been starved of possession by their inside backs.

Christ. Ross Byrne kicking it against his own player really sums up the performance so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Dragons never rolled away after making that tackle. Was pretty obvious too.

Bizarre penalty there, Drags player lying all over that

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,048 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Conor O'Brien needs to be taken off. Hemorrhaging possession when it's anywhere near him.

Always annoys me that when a ref/TMO are looking for one offence they seem incapable of noticing other potential offences, even when they are as obvious as that one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Did Frawley come on for Ringrose? He must be injured because there's no way he'd be taken off when Byrne and COB are still on.

We've been even worse this second half. Didn't think such a thing could be possible. Very distinct possibility that we lose this game.
