Lood de Jager is incredibly injury prone. He only played for Sale 25 times in his three seasons there. Having seen what has happened to Munster with Snyman I doubt Leinster would risk it.

We've also to consider Joe McCarthy in this too. I think he's primed for a proper breakout season where he establishes himself as Ryan's second row partner for Leinster. Provided he can stay injury free as well.

they are replacing Jenkins with McCarthy and he is a major upgrade.

Yeah. Now the question is is Jenkins (or another signing) needed as a squad player? - or can Deeny and O'Tighearnaigh fill that role from next season?

Molony's there too, obviously. And Soroka could play some second row, if he ever gets fit.

Josh Murphy was probably a better second row option for Leinster than Jenkins is.

Any thoughts on how Jack Dunne is getting on at Exeter? He doesn't seem to have been making the side for the Premiership games, playing Premiership Cup instead.

I don't think Dunne is much of an upgrade, if an upgrade at all.

The ref will probably be told one of them to speak to. My gut tells me that will be Ryan most of the time.

Scarlets taking the UFC approach tonight

JGP loves that 4 man miss pass.

Has Big Joe got even bigger since last week? Great start for Prendergast. Osbornes pass for that try was simple but lovely. Keenan oozes class.

    Great try.

Prendergast with a lovely disguised pullback. And Larmour kept that ball alive by coming in off his wing and running towards support.

Davidson isn't being consistent with her calls.

VDF having one of his less better games. Few knock ons and missed a few tackles. Very rare for him, usually consistently great.

    Well done Clarkson! Great turnover.

Poor way to end the half. Feel like we haven't hit our rhythm in attack.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,899 ✭✭✭KH25

Scarlets player was practically lying on the ground at that last turnover. Some of the decisions tonight have been confusing at best.

At the game so can't hear everything but some of those calls are really confusing me.

VDF has started the game slowly.

But Ringrose, Keenan and Doris and playing like they've never been away.

Osborne was excellent that half. Was involved in everything Leinster did well in attack. Such a great prospect.

    Davidson is a great ref.

    Leaves the game flow.

We started off so clinical gone a bit sloppy now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinsters protection of the ball at the scrum and subsequent rucks was very poor there.

Good transition attack after the JOB catch though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭Shehal

Lol, blatant hands in the ruck but nah let them have the ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,971 ✭✭✭randomname2005

Not sure I saw a forward pass from there to JGP

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,325 ✭✭✭scott1974

I wouldn't mind but it was I front of her eyes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    That's all Keenan.

Completely destroyed the Scarlets carrier in Leinsters 22 then the Scarlets 9 when we were transitioning to attack off the lineout.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,971 ✭✭✭randomname2005

Almost seems like the officiating team will find something wrong with GR's try. Listening with no volume means all symbols from the ref are confusing and very inconsistent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭Shehal

She can be very picky at the breakdown when she wants to be. That's a Scarlets penalty but then Scarlets are allowed steal the ball while lying on the ground and then steal with their hands clearly in the ruck...

Felt like McCarthy was on the ball for an eternity and nothing was given for or against.
