Quick question on this - the excess is €100 on our policy.

If our dog has a vet treatment for an illness that costs us less than €100, is there anything we can claim or do you only claim of above €100 cost?

    Thanks

You claim anything above €100. So eg €150, you get €50 back.. €4000 you get €3900 back.

Remember the excess is per illness / claim ..

soo if your dogs needs further treatment for the same issue within the policy year this will be included under the same claim.

So say this time it’s cost €95 .. and next time it’s €75.. save all your receipts just in case .. you’ll be able to claim €70 back etc

Whilst on the subject - a relative says that most pet insurance policies include an exclusion for any claim during the first month..... can't be right surely?

I just checked there - it's 2 weeks with Allianz. Pretty standard in any health insurance policy though?

Yip it’s 2 weeks with Allianz.. ie you can’t claim during the first 2 weeks .. makes sense to be honest

Same for human health insurance.. it’s like 26 weeks for most health insurance
