Same - all though true to form, no idea of that sports person.

    Did you skip Round 4?

I presumed that was the Tiebreaker round

I am certain I got 11 of those absolutely correct. The rest were educated guesses with a couple of random guesses and no ideas thrown in

I actually know this! But only cos he is old school

I couldn't even guess a real sportsperson for yer man, I just kept thinking of Burritos and hoped a popular Dublin Burrito Bar was named in his honour... :D

Aside from that one, I'm quite happy with all the rest of my answers.

    Me too.

Perfect in control of a ball. Not so perfect in control of a hair trimmer :D

Mixed bag there. Won't be winning this anyway.

As for the suggested rounds I'd be happy with anything that's not Marvel/superhero related.

Couple of mentions for Dingbats which would be nice.

Stage 2 will begin today. It will contain the same categories as stage 1 and both groups will have the same questions.

I am pleased to announce now though that there will be a requests round also. So, shoot me some topics of interest on this thread and they may appear.

    Science, flags, geography

Those geography questions can naff off.
They had that coastline one on Pointless and all but I wasn't paying enough attention at the time :(

I would like to second this.

On a serious note, I’d like to request either country capitals, US State capitals or national flags

A round on dogs would be great Kolido!

Edit: and I'd like to second Macks suggestion of US state capitals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,515 ✭✭✭aaronjennings

To borrow some other suggestions, I'd love rounds on maths, flags, the MCU and Arrowverse. I'll also throw Doctor Who in as a personal preference

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,454 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Had a quick look at some of the answers, i can see at least 2 of you forgot to answer the picture, maybe you missed it. Purple and Mack I think forgot so far.

As for the requested rounds, think we have enough on geography and sport, was thinking more niche categories.

Unless you want to PM me all 50 US state capitols for an extra 1 point

Folks I will send out PMs closer to deadline, but please be sure you see all the questions, there are 4 rounds plus the tie breakers today.

RBT and Mack have missed the picture round it seems.

I think it's better not to have it too niche, where one person has a special interest and everyone else is going WTF.

E.g. there was a Soaps sheep here a couple of weeks ago ( sheep is grand cos you can google for answers), so some would have been able to answer them without any need for google and some would have had to google almost everything.

With a niche category, it makes a game very lopsided if one or two people are really into and every one else hasn't a clue.

Two minutes on the specialist subject please!

But realistically sum total of my knowledge - some cats have short tails, some cats have no hair, my Aunt had a gorgeous blue/grey British Shorthair with amber eyes called Ollie, I like the fluffy ones that don't scratch :D

i missed all the fun of the reveal. Was told last night I am a close contact of someone with Covid and it threw me a bit. She only started work with us last Wed.

Anyhow it's just as well because I see Kolido put up several of my answers like a "You'll never guess what one fool thought" comment.:pac:

Nag's Head how did I get that wrong?
Moscow was first thing I thought for that picture but decided to be clever and say something ridiculous like it was in Azer-by-Jaysus
BUT the real killer is I missed the cut for Champions League by 1 point when I know I never even answered the question about the currency of Denmark:mad: Probably as well cos you lot are all too feckin' brainy for me.

Anyway I wrote "no idea" a lot less this time so hopefully that will transfer to a good score.

I want to second Omack's suggestion of flags, capital cities or US capitals.

Eurovision winners (for me and Sawduck)!!

Someone mentioned Dingbats. I like that idea.

I liked the questions on real names of celebrities so a round on that maybe.

You did a great job of mixing things up Kolido. Very enjoyable even if you had several answers different to mine. :)

Flags, cities, countries, basically anything geography related.
    Formula One.
The complete works of Talking Heads.
Or, you know, whatever you feel like putting in yourself. It's been a pretty good mix of questions so far.
