I know this is a long shot but is there any car insurance brokers that recognise no claims bonuses from motorbike insurance?

I'm 22 and have 3 years no claims from riding my motorbikes but have never taken the first step to getting a car because of the absolutely ridiculous insurance costs for someone starting off.

I also think it's crazy for them to see me as a complete novice liability when I've had around 4 years on the road and am currently paying 720 euro a year for 2 motorbikes with one that has faster acceleration than 99% of cars on Irish roads yet if I want to drive a ****box polo under my own name I'm looking at 2000 euro minimum

    Short version: No.

    Slightly longer version: Maybe.

Because both Liberty & Axa insure bikes, and if you're with one of them, you might get some sort of 'existing business' discount.

If you're a car driver with Aviva, and have RoSPA on your bike licence, you'll get a discount for that too.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
