Like I said, I've no time for the Shinners, but it's important to understand the narrative that Tubridy is setting.

    It makes me cry.

To be fair I'm enjoying this - literally the first time in years!

Highlight so far has been Andrea playing O'Neill's March on the tin whistle.

    It did though

Before 88 very few were flying flags outside their houses

The summer of 90 very few didn’t

don't understand this. the flags were flying cos we were in the world cup (for the first time).

2011 when obama and the Queen visited in the same week.
I felt that that was the turning point in our relationship with the flag

Might be a generational thing in that people who don't think it are young and didn't experience it. Like you say, in the 80s growing up a tricolour would pretty much identify you as a staunch republican.

Now when you see them it's still almost an Impulse to think the same but it's always for soccer, rugby, or hey, we're just proud of being Irish.

It's a shame that the dumb **** anti vaxer/lockdown/common sense morons are trying to hijack it again.

A barbecue with pat short sounds like torture.
Fake laughter, burnt food and warm beer.
I’d stick it out with the lockdown instead

Similar to the controversial lyrical issue with Eo**** Mc******* and Fairytale Of New York, Stockton's Wing have been asked re-record their song "Beautiful Affair" so as not to encourage people to interact.

So, in light of the RTE COVID scare-athon, the line "See all the doors swing open" should be replaced with "Keep all the door and windows closed ta f**k will ye"

This random showing of people waving is cringey.

Hope this gets knocked on the head.

I had a dream a few nights ago

The lockdown was over and me and Luke O'Neill and a few others were going to this new giant Chicken Restaurant

it was the size of a Supermarket the menu went on forever and I still couldn't find anything I wanted (which is weird as I quite like Chicken)

Luke was in great form and I was dreading the waiter coming over as I didn't want to be negative when Luke was being so upbeat about everything

    Help

    Black flag, ya mean ;)
I don't get this thing about the flag - we just didn't have a tradition of flying it from windows down south etc AFAICR - only for sports really and that was from 88 onwards!
