Catamarca - I have voted for both before todsy I'm sticking with the non orange one :D

    Catamarca.
The sun looks nicer and the colours combine better than in Tocantins

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,509 ✭✭✭Purgative

I knew I couldn't go all night without disagreeing with ari :).

I like them both but Tocantins (BRA), its nicely balancedand does its job as a flag. Catamarca is just a little "too much" maybe if they'd left off the border something.

Tocantins The flag represents a land "where the sun rises for all." The sun, of golden yellow, sending forth its rays upon the future of our state, is placed on a white bend, symbol of peace, between the fields of blue and yellow, colors that express respectively the waters and the rich soil of Tocantins.

    Catamarca
At the edges it has a gold-colored filleting, which represents the hereditary cultural wealth that the province possesses. Meanwhile, the upper side is light blue and white, representing the sky, the national ensign and the mantle of the Virgin. At the bottom, it has a blood red stripe, which represents "the mixture of our blood." In the center, in the union of colors, a sun was designed, inspired by the sun of the Incas. On the sides of it, a crown of olive trees was designed, made up of 16 leaves, representing all the departments of the province.

Love both flags. Symbolism of Catamarca for me.

Catamarca - although I like both of them

Sucumbíos - because it's similar to our own flag and the other one is very plain.

Colonia (URU), one of the nicer crests which makes up for the plain white background

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,272 ✭✭✭Barna77

    Colonia
It has a bee and the southern cross

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭KathleenGrant

Colonia the colours of the crest are lovely and it celebrates bees. Unusual and attractive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

A lot of buzz around the Uruguayan effort.

    Colonia advances.

    VS

    Apurímac (PER)

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,024 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Santiago del Estero - nice symmetry, simple but effective design, and much easier on the eye than the other one I think.

  • Registered Users, Subscribers Posts: 47,305 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Santiago del Estero (ARG). I like both for different reasons, but this one just works better imo and could go far in the competition.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,272 ✭✭✭Barna77

    Santiago del Estero

It has the cross of Santiago, obviously.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭KathleenGrant

Santiago del Estero I like the colours and the symmetry. Not a fan of the rainbow effect on the other one.
