    Quarters won't be going down tonight, just a head's up of when they will be happening. Was thinking Thursday throughout the day with nice gaps between the matches. Then finish off on Friday night with semi finals and grand final.

    Morning folks, here’s the schedule for the business end of the competition. We’ll be taking a break from the action today and getting down to the nitty gritty on tomorrow, with proceedings culminating on Friday night. Would love anyone who was involved in this to take part or even if you haven’t, feel free to get invested.

    Here's the make up of the Elite Eight;

    We have 3 representing BRAZIL, including the country's national flag itself. Equally, we have three provinces of ARGENTINA in the mix. Rounding out the quarter finals then we have an entry each from VENEZUELA and URUGUAY.

    I'm going to give each match the full hour and will encourage reasons as tie breakers could be very important at this stage of them game.

    Santa Catarina hat on a star is pretty unique, yet it works. The lime green centre sets off the stripes nicely.

    Santa Catarina - love both, but the green on red is really eye-catching and even trumps the excellent socialist iconography of Chubut.

    Chubut. It's a bit simpler, nicer colour mix and if you asked a kid in Chubut to draw their local flag they'd have a chance of being able to do it.

    Santa Catarina looks a bit like a local crest has been superimposed on an Austrian flag - the two parts of it don't really seem to go together and the thing in the middle is overly complicated.

    So Chubut for me.

    Chubut is overall more aesthetically pleasing to me.

    I like the colour scheme, the subtle shades of blue and simplified imagery. (That said I definitely don't dislike the competition, it's nice to see a bright green used well on a flag.)

    Santa Catarina - if you were to take away the smurf hat and the christmas bow at the end it would be a whole lot better. but the green is lovely against the red and white. and everything else is fine on it too

    Santa Katarina for me.
    The Green contrasts nicely with the red and white and there are some interesting things going on: the eagle, the key, the anchor and the hat on top of the star, great stuff all around.

    that Chubut is annoying the heck out of me.

    there's no warmth, no strong fierce animal, no classiness..

    if the lines were the same maybe it would bother me a little less, but one soft wavy line and one jagged is making my brain confused.

    It's cold and bland, and it's making me scrunch my nose when I look at it :o
