Landini Ghibli 100 for sale for 16.5k... seems like an alright looking tractor, even though most Landinis seem to age badly. I've never driven one of these but I'm thinking theres alot to be said for simpler tractors with minimal electronics

    https://www.donedeal.ie/tractors-for-sale/ford-7840-sle-2wd/28333733.

This 2wd Ford 7840 sle was for sale before but didnt sell. I was half thinking of going to look at this one but after researching these ford tractors and although this tractors looks fresh, the gearboxes seem to have their problems

I’d have thought that Landini styling has aged well enough, bar the long stalk gears which harks back a bit. I’ll qualify that by saying our most used tractor is mid 70’s and “the new” tractor was purchased 16 years ago and is 1986

    Lovely tidy tractor.
Them zetor 6945/7245/7745 tractors were horrific balls of ****e. Any of them that have survived till today have done so by having the diesel pump adjusted to full bore, that still left them under powered thirsty diesel guzzling yolks.
Worth less than scrap metal value.

Did you have one? There's a couple of Zetors here, not front line anymore, but they have 3 outstanding qualities, great to pull, great traction and light on diesel.
This area here was a hotbed of them Zetors that you mention and I never once heard the complaints that you have listed, and that is the truth.

The ghibli is good value at that. If it was a jd or nh with those hours it would be double the price . A friend had a ghibli 100 with a loader for a few years.
The 100 is only 93 hp afaik. Grand tidy light tractor. Nice and lively on the road.
Im told the 100s had front axel braking, the 90s didnt . Brakes in the hubs rather than the external callipers that were on the 9880 40ks
It had the same cranked back axel as the 9880 so it locked very quickly onto the drawbar .
His had left hand shuttle. An oddity with it was, it would do 30k when the shuttle was pushed forward. To do 40 k , you had to put the shuttle in neutral , push it out towards the door and pull it back. The problem was you had a good chance of putting it in reverse instead, so as a result 40k was rarely used.
The one for sale here has a floor change shuttle so shouldnt have that problem
If they do heavy work the lift and hydraulics are known to give trouble

The white top sle 7840 and 7740 were the ones known to give bother. Im told they had the problems sorted by the time the blue tops came out . Personally i think they were overrated even the sldp gearboxes but lads like them and they are holding their value

The sle blue cab are now sought after, the niggles are well known as are the cures, they have actually appreciated in value. They are a joy to use.

Nice Ford here with the original T5 block.
Does anyone here from that area know the tractor?

Never had a zetor but I'd love that one .(if I had 20k that wasn't needed ).Even at that money sure it's not bad considering the work left in it and the price of all tractors is woegus dear at the minute anyhow

Spending 20k to bring that hardship into your life!

Sounds like two old boots had a bad experience with one! Have a neighbor that had a 4wd 7 series zetor, never had any issue with it. Used it for slurry, the aran islands near me have loads of them, still going strong today.

What kind of work would the tractors be doing on the Arans?

Inc in the 20k price is a new sub 100 euro seat. Looking for 20k for a tractor and not willing to pay 4*500 euro for a decent seat. It's immaterial what tractor or what condition

Some mark up on this ex BnaM TL 70.Twas the first of the 2wd TL70's to sell that day, and in fairness twas the best of the 2wd ones. Sold 2 weeks ago, hammer price was 8450, add in commission and vat and it came to about 11k on the day. Now asking 14k plus vat...

He will struggle to get a vat buyer for that tractor he probably trying it on to see if someone bites. He has resprayed he and replaced the decals AFAICS, also he has valeted the inside. He should have serviced it. I imagine about 1 k gone into it.

If I was buying that tractor there is probably another 500-1k worth of work needed. There is no beacon on it and I be surprised if the track rods are ok. It's overpriced as a 70 hp 2wd tractor. 15k is the max for them

If it's a no non vat buyer he will struggle at 15 K, even a vat buyer may not go much beyond that.

Bitta topping, spreading fertiliser, there are a few cattle trailers on Inis Mór. Basic stock farm work really.

Well anything really, all the fields are quite small so I spose the handy sized zetor suits them and they don't house during the winter so not needed for feeding. Mostly seem to be used to bring tourists around the place during the summer and to transport water, topping etc. Typical small holding type jobs really.

I had always wondered how they all arrived there at the same time, all the regs are late 80s or early 90s. My guess is that some type of deal was done for a shipping container or something similar back in the day. They're still going strong though, even with the obvious issue of rust being so close to the sea.

New pick up hitch needed too. Doubt it even got a service, those tractors were serviced back in 2019, but clocked up little or no hours since. Be interesting to see how quick it sells

Have a 6718 here. Its lovely to drive. Perfect driving position, good view all around. Air seat and front suspension. Not bad for a '75 vintage!

Most are bought because they have the space in the cabs. I worked a fair bit out there and couldn’t get over the amount of them. One of the islanders explained it to me that you could anything you needed in the transport box that cidnt mind getting wet and the groceries in the cab with the wife and kids. We were drinking at the time but it made sense.

They hold some amount of bale wrap too:D

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Why wouldn't they just tighten up the bolts when it started splitting? Probably still just a case of putting a jack under it and putting bolts back in, depending on how much "driving" like that has been done.

They are looking enough for it too!
