2008 Mitsubishi Lancer neutral very stiff side to side. Video included.

    2008 Mitsubishi Lancer was parked up for 6 months . The shifter is stiff in neutral it does not want to move side to side . any ideas or help would be appreciated

    Sprayed cables under shifter and bonnet.

    Any idea what could be wrong

    Bushings on Gear cables at the gearbox siezed ?

    Remove the cable ends from the linkage and try again. Then you will know if its the cables, or even gear lever.

    The main fault on these is the brass part of the bush gets seized onto the shift bracket pin with rust/corrosion.

    Removed the left cable and went side to side effortlessly . I think u could be right about the bush getting seized
