Loss of use claim

Just looking to find out more about "loss of use" for a friend who's car was hit into by a foreign registered car. Due to the car being hit into by foreign car the claim process is taking a lot longer than usual and according to MIBI their insurance company has 6 weeks to act from date of incident which is nearly 3 weeks…

Just looking to find out more about "loss of use" for a friend who's car was hit into by a foreign registered car.

Due to the car being hit into by foreign car the claim process is taking a lot longer than usual and according to MIBI their insurance company has 6 weeks to act from date of incident which is nearly 3 weeks now.

Anyways what we are wondering is can my friend claim for loss of use for each day he is without his car even though he has not rented one yet ?
