Lovely goal. Hopefully give them more confidence now too

That's what I'm beaming about most is the fact it came from good play and wasn't just a scrappy goal. Not that I wouldn't take a scrappy goal but you can see how much that meant to the lads.

    Kennyball in full flow. Delighted.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

    Delighted for that.

Robinson's ball control has been excellent so far. Cullen is constantly looking for the ball as well. Great start.

Been a great start. Players working really hard. He will need to be smart with substitutions to keep up this effort.

I have noticed that we put no one on the near post when they have a corner. This really worries me.

Is anyone worried that we have taken the lead too soon? :o

Keeping hold of the ball will be more important
This team is set up for that.
Need midfield to get on it now.

The keeper isn't instilling me with confidence

LOL you can hear everything shouted from the sidelines. "Fookin win it"

And don't fall too deep. When we have the ball try and keep it. Doherty guilty of giving it away cheaply on a couple of occasions.

Travers looking very nervous and shaky

Yeah he's given the defenders a genuine option to play into midfield. Impressed with O'Shea so far too.

Was good while it lasted, O'shea is so slow.

How does Travers dive to his near post in that situation....

Make it to halftime at this and there are positives to be taken,

Some dropped heads and fairly dejected looks there, just hope we can come back out with the heads up and go again.

    Fcuk sake. So avoidable.

    Poor by Travers.

It was an easy save if he dived to the strong side.
Should be looking to dive left and react to his right.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,686 ✭✭✭sheroman01

So weird seeing Randolph play for the opposition.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,570 ✭✭✭The White Feather

We are really in this. Just need to believe in ourselves. There are goals there for us. Both defences look like they will gave way goals though

Serbs are opening us up a bit. Need to get on the ball again and get some confidence back.

Far too easy for Serbia there. O'Shea done for pace.

Was the kind of finish that none of our strikers are capable of.

Don't think he's solely to blame. True, it was a strange decision and he looks nervous. Should've stayed on his feet longer and delayed his dive. Still, he may not even have saved it if dived the other way.

I see so many goalkeepers do this and it always baffles me.

Nearly caught us with that corner........

Not sure Travers would have saved it diving the other way. Finish was pretty good.

That looked a nasty belt against the post.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,811 ✭✭✭ShamNNspace

Positioning on those corners is all wrong, we'll get caught again if its not rectified

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Travers wasn’t saving that goal. It was a great finish. Poor defence unfortunately. Was a fairly routine ball round the corner

Given the eyes I'd say, more experienced goalie stands strong

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Pitch is in shiiite. Lads falling over every where.

Honestly, it could have been a lot worse when the teams were named.

They've been competitive. There's absolutely another goal in this for us.

He wouldn't have saved it but he didn't make himself look good the way he just fell the other way

Expectations exceeded thus far and yet still disappointed with that goal.

We need to get out of our half. It's been a backs to the wall 20-25.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,952 ✭✭✭The Big Easy

Good first half and great to see an Irish team trying to play some football.

Hopefully we can raise it again in the second half and get the win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,490 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Wouldn't be blaming the keeper at all

The defensive shape was all wrong!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Goal a kick in the balls but they did well for 40 mins. I worry for the last 15/20. We’ve done a lot of chasing and their bench is a fair bit stronger than ours. Being in front and holding out was probably our best chance

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,029 ✭✭✭tastyt

Good first half to be fair , Browne , Cullen , Robinson playing well

Molumby , Connolly , Doherty disappointing

Not a bad half from us, some definite positives.

Need to get on and hold the ball a bit more second half, but other than that keep going as we are.
