Dealt with the guy a fair bit years back, he's clueless about technology, he's not even much of an event planner. What he is very good at is hype and networking. He's a marketer

Cant see the likes of Murphy or any ultra greens signing up with him.

His 'only apply if you have a degree from trinity' job ads too. The guy is every shady sales stereotype , he'd do well to sell merc's in Beverley hills. Perfect role for him.

To be fair, he's very driven and has made a few bob.

    That's all I have.

Well we've known there is a schism in the GP for quite some time between the old school environmentalists and the politics-by-twitter types

I think Mr Cosgrove should absolutely take the plunge into electoral politics. He is without doubt the greatest party-planner this nation has ever produced.

The people of Lisbon would be blessed to have him as their representative.

Any chance it’s a FF/FG ploy to keep the left split?

    There's really no need.:pac:

Another right leaning SD type party is needed to give people an option outside of FF/FG IMO.

With a strong law and order platform. There must be a market for people fed up with 70+ conviction scumbags roaming the streets.

The Peter Casey Niall Boylan happy Funtime party for friendship and tolerance. They've got my vote.

Gript (I'm sorry) are calling it saying its " the green left" with saoirse mchugh expected to feature prominently.

Are the green party not already left?

Are the green party not already left?

There are two types of left. The class ones and the identities ones.

with a pinch of salt taketh but this one is more left and more looney than before.

Ideas include closing Shannon airport and a cap on how many flights people can take a year.

The left are more than capable of performing that task by themselves in fairness

At this stage, we would be happy with a political party in Ireland that would advocate a mandatory jail sentence after, let's say, 50 convictions. Heard the story today about a 21 year old who was brutally attacked in Dublin city centre recently. The Gardai were well aware of the gang who are responsible, but their hands are tied due to the age of the assailants. This is an insane situation in a modern society. People should be allowed to walk the streets of our cities and towns without fear of getting assaulted, but even worse to know that after you are assaulted that there will be little to no consequences for the perpetrators of the crime. This results in 2 crimes against you; one by the thugs and one by the State.

We are not a modern society at all.

A party cannot have no opinion on abortion if it wants to be taken seriously.

If any party was asked about anything but housing, broadband, employment, recovery from covid, renewable energy, rebalancing the country away from dublin and health reform, the response for that party should be to reel out those items and say "sorry we have a list of priorities its more than enough to focus on"

This would be very amusing giving some of the statement she came out with when she left the greens.

"The path to a free and just society is not in electoral politics".

She must have changed her mind.

Paul Murphy was courting her hard on Twitter for a while, though that seems to have died down. I was thinking at the time she'd be a high profile move to whatever he's calling his thing.

I can't imagine why she'd be involved in something other tbh. The reason socialists split so much is down to doctrine, and I doubt she's that close to trotsky or marx

She couldn't get elected under a Green banner in Mayo and she sure as hell won't be getting elected as part of some micro-group either

McGuirk has come into possession of leaked policy documents and is promising a full spread on the group tomorrow!

Apparently the are calling the mainstream Greens "the Sprouts" and, amongst other things, have as a policy the total ban on all dairy milk production. If that last point is true it has to go down as the most insane policy platform of any political party in the history of the state.

A real vote winner in rural Ireland.

Abortion is here and it ain’t going away.
I voted no but majority rules and I respect that.
I’ve lost faith in FF and FG and don’t trust SF. The Greens are idiots.
I feel as though I’ve nobody to vote for.
When I look at various manifestos I get totally turned off to see repealing abortion or another referendum as a number 1 priority.
    The stable is empty now!

Watch them get far more coverage everywhere than their vote tally would ever justify

    Including on boards tbf

Whatever happened with Ming Flanagan 'courting her hard'? Last I recall he was off to the Belgian police, I don't remember anything after that.

Also according to the Gript leaked documents, a proposed personal cap on the amount of flights a citizen can board in a calendar year, the closure of Shannon airport, a ban on all private aircraft entering Irish airspace (presumably they'll have to finance a few F15s to shoot them down), and a 30 hour working week.

On the finance question, a policy document suggests:

“some sort of wheeze (to be elaborated) to get multinational companies to pay for this s***”

Let me guess......there's going to be an announcement on April 1st?

Eric, is this you condescendingly making up **** to make "the left" look bad again or is there any actual evidence?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

as stated, its in the gript post, I said pinch of salt, Possibly their words, possibly John Mcguirk's, not mine.

Normally I don't have to make up anything to make the left look bad, they do it all by themselves :pac:
