    Sorry, what?

    Did you read the article?

Scotland are allowing fans? Theyve said they are allowing 12,000 at Hampden?

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/56656500

    There's alot of variables.

Associations now have to end of April to amend their submission.

There's already talk of some cities despite having said yes we'll allow 25% might not actually be able to accommodate that number at all come June given issues in certain countries.

Ireland has said look we don't know, no point in promising something if it can't be delivered

Probably one of the soccer thread

They change the page 9 mins ago. I was just going by the information that was in your original link where it mentioned but Dublin and Glasgow. You only commented on Dublin and omitted the fact at the time Glasgow was also in doubt.

What, you are making stuff up now! You just saw the headline from an article published on 4 March!

Why don't they link the vaccination status to facebook? Then you could just use the facebook app to get into the cinema or whatever.

Would you want that info sold on to the lowest gutters of capitalism.

    That a pretty terrible suggestion.

In fairness they have open sourced their data from time to time. :pac:

Obviously Scotland is as draconian also.

Have you not read the follow up story?
    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/56656500

The Scottish government has given approval for 12,000 supporters - 25% of the stadium's capacity - to attend Euro 2020 matches at Hampden in June.

    They'll keep their matches

It's going well now but we'll just have to hold our breaths for two weeks and hope that they don't go up again with kids back in school.

Its all every student going back. I cant see cases could be lower than current numbers. Race between transmission in schools and vaccination it seems what the government have went for. A plan following the science would open outdoor events fist and remain cautious with indoor events. The importance of children missing just a few weeks of school is vastly overstated. Most behavioural scientists know this.

They might but community transmission is far lower now. That's why we closed them in the first place.

Is anyone else appalled by the proposition of vaccines passports (or "bonus" as they are being referred to)?

This topic has crept into every radio program I've heard today.
The idea that services could be granted or denied based on vaccine status is quite disturbing.
This does cross a line, and many people will be excluded from certain events/establishments because they don't want to share private health information.... or they simply have contraindications which preclude them from getting a vax in the first place.

It just feels like far too many of our civil liberties have been breached, and now this...
    I miss freedom :(

A two tier society, absolute nightmare. I don’t like the passive coercion involved in promising my freedom back by getting the vaccine. There is something inherently bad about that proposal and I don’t like where it’s going

There’s supposed to be an issue in the US with undocumented immigrants not registering for vaccination for fear of being deported

True but cases will still increase, maybe even more than last month since all pupils will be back, even though community rates are lower. It's all much of a muchness now anyway. Maybe they'll finally be honest about school cases and transmission now that end of term is in sight and there'll be no further closures.

    Money talks I guess...

“We need to start rebuilding international travel. And if there’s something like a technological way to show that you are safe to travel, then I am in favor of that”
Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings

    And then...

If it happens though, it’s up to the private and nonprofit sectors to implement a system. White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday said the administration will not support “a system that requires Americans to carry a credential”

Don't think all this vaccine passport for domestic use will go anywhere along with talk for any massive freedoms for those vaccinated. Sounds very messy but I reckon most of the talk is measured and is more towards allowing people to think they will need to be vaccinated. All this AZ stuff along with projected refusals are a risk and need to be managed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 247 ✭✭CoronaBlocker

So vaccine passports may simply turn out to be corporate data-mining exercises. That is genuinely something to worry about.

There is probably an evens chance that I may never leave this lovely little island ever again.

Russian Sputnik V mess in Slovakia!
A 200,000-dose order of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine that triggered a political crisis in Slovakia should not be administered yet because of incomplete or inaccurate information from the manufacturer, the national medicines agency has said.

If this is true, its an unfounded fear. Anyone can get the vaccine for free. Yeah, you need ID but only to show that you are the person who made the appointment. you don't need to show your immigration documents. Many states allow undocumented people to get drivers licenses etc. anyway. The government have explicitly stated that the information given at vaccines cannot be used for immigration enforcement.

Eh ye there's a massive difference in going to a different country and going down town to a restaurant.
