No reason not to open up indoor concerts in the summer.
Not if we stretch out the gap between shots but more likely to be the autumn anyway IMO.

Haven't been following the vaccination updates too closely this week but how will we have the population fully vaccinated by mid summer
    (do you mean July?).
I thought we were under pressure with AZ being limited to a certain age group and j+j on pause?
Not disagreeing with you just haven't been keeping up.
    Thanks.

Say outdoor could be a runner but not sure about large indoor gigs as early as summer. Could still be social distancing and limit on crowd numbers. Think return of matches in outdoor stadiums will be the one to track to see when large gigs could be allowed.

Apologies, I misphrased that. We should have the full population given some vaccine by midsummer, and fully vaccinated by late summer.

If we have ~80% partial vaccination and 55% full vaccination by the end of June, what follows in July should be able to provide us with sufficient protection to open up events fully as the summer ends. We should have the population vaccinated in full before the schools go back at that rate because there’s likely to be further ramping up as we enter Q3.

Hopefully the leisnter Rugby idea gets the go ahead

Interesting article in today’s Sunday Times quoting an Irish coroner querying the Covid death figures. Will we ever get a figure for the people who died due to Covid rather than with Covid?

We still record confirmed and probable deaths, what the ECDC advised.

What's the justification for not opening click and collect for another 4 weeks? Nonsensical decision.

The 'And' was because some people praised the numbers without actually posting them

What? Throwing a dart at a calendar and going "Yep, reopen pubs on July 21st"

I think it made sense to have that restriction when the 5km was in place and we were supposed to leave home for exercise or essential reasons only. Now that we've moved to county/20km limits it makes no sense whatsoever to keep click and collect closed.

Never thought id see the word fantastic used to the news of 1 death and and 264 new cases, but yes a relief to see the numbers steadily going down.

    Decent progress this week.

    216 fewer cases
    17 fewer reported deaths
    37 fewer in hospital
    6 fewer in ICU

When CSO publish final figures for the year we will have a good idea. The excess deaths (over the average for recent years) will be a good indication of mortality due to Covid only. It will also have accelerated other deaths i.e. happened in Q1 rather than later in year.

Its a decline of an average of 30 cases a day. Its going down slowly but surely.

We will get where we want to get to from a combination of cases going down and vaccines going up.

At least the authorities got the golf right .
Can you imagine what the numbers would be like if we had courses full of two ball groups -classic super spreader events with players spraying aerosols all over the place ,kissing and hugging in the car park and infecting half the parish on the way home.
Thank goodness our enlightened leaders held the line on this one.

Only 50% of 69 to 65 year old have registered for vaccine.
Not great if half this age group refusing it.

    Yes.
Was delighted to see those numbers this evening 2 weeks after we were seemingly stuck!
    Great news!
Hopefully we will have click and collect back and meeting more friends outside end of this month / beginning of May?

That's a bit of an exaggeration . Not booking doesn't equal refusing

    100 000 is more than 50%.
That group is meant to be 180 000 acc to Donnelly and HSE.
Still plenty of time for people to register over the next couple of weeks.

Numbers were stagnant for a good while. The lowering of late must be the vaccines starting to kick in.
