Case numbers the same the past 4 weeks while ICU and hospitalisations are dropping all the time. Very good sign.

If that George Lee clip is real it's a disgrace and an insult to anyone in the hospitality industry whose business has been decimated. Absolute clown of a man.

Makes sense. In fact I would predict as restrictions are loosened, case numbers might continue going upwards but hospitalisations will continue to drop. Vaccinating the most vulnerable is seriously easing the pressure on our hospitals.

It was a very bizarre comment from the usually so upbeat George.

The latest Social Activity Measure report compiled by the ESRI to assist Government decision making about opening of certain parts of the economy has revealed that mobility and social activity increased further over recent weeks.

The proportion of people making journeys outside of their homes continued to rise especially visits to other homes as well as the use of take-away restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Good, positive chat on Reddit Ireland earlier mentioning 250k a week from May onwards too

We'll be swimming in vaccines like a girl surrounded by GAA mickies in Coppers soon enough*

We know for a fact where and how the virus spreads at this stage. George going on about pubs and restaurants is just propaganda to distract us from the truth. Unless of course George and all the staff at RTÉ news are extreme low IQ morons who really don’t know that the virus needs indoor meetings without masks to thrive.

RTE are a disgrace full stop. Never ending doom and gloom. We're a heartbeat away from opening up again and getting somewhere in life. You wouldn't know it with them.

I'm surprised George Lee hasn't come out and stated 'You're never more than 15ft away from Coronavirus' yet

Is there any evidence emerging that seasonality may have effect on cases or disease severity, even with variants, now that we've nearly got a full year of data?

Would like to see the stats he is using to make that claim. 1 in 30 children end up hospitalised?

    Big claim to make.

The sooner Gerry and his group of experts disappear back into obscurity the better.
The media are far to quick to run to them and allow them voice their extreme (and nearly always unchallenged) views.

Depends on how he phrased it. 1 in 30 children end up in hospital or 1 in 30 in hospital are children.

Looks like children have a 1.3% of being hospitalised.
Or about 8% of people hospitalised are children.

I've no clue where he's getting the 1 in 30. But we all know, people can present made up stats and they very rarely get called out. And by the time they get called out on it, some people will still believe the made up stat if they want to believe it.

I have see big groups of people in south Dublin outside restaurants and cafes. There is very little social distancing and in some cases I have seen upwards of 70 people when the weather is fine. I have also see people drinking and getting absolutely hammered. They have been drinking from the afternoon to late at night. I saw one group 40 in their 20s in a pub car park drinking from about 4pm until at least 2.30. They had take away pints and cans that they bought in super markets. They were also smoking joints so there is a possibility that some of the spread is taking place in situations like this.

What show was this on? Was he challenged on this assertion and how he came upon this figure? What data he was using? I'm absolutely sick to the teeth of this ISAG group getting airtime. If they're not going to answer questions about their email leaks, their tactics, their decision to deliberately mislead and cause anxiety to the Irish public, their decision to ridicule the individual - then a full blown boycott should be undertaken. Was Gerry Killeen questioned as to why he wanted to take a hurley to someone who disagreed with his insane views?

Why is it only now that we're hearing more from Kingston Mills? He's infinitely more qualified than Tomás Ryan.

Surely the institutions that employ these lads can see that they are poor advertisements for those said institutions? Ryan, Staines, McConkey and Killeen bring harm to the reputations of the institutions.

I read the news report. It's a matter of 'what did they expect?' Tough. These are the rules and they'll just have to grin and bear it.

It's hardly agitation growing. It's one family lodging a complaint the same day they arrived here.
