Did anything change for notice period from a tenants perspective when the legislation was changed in October 2020? Reading up on the changes I can only find information from the landlord giving notice side of things. Under the existing rules a tenant 5 years in a house would have to give 84 days, does that still stand?

No the notice periods set out in the 4th June 2019 still stand, so for that length of tenure 180 days for landlord or 84 if tenant giving notice. Obviously with level 5 and emergency legislation in play again the landlord notice period is frozen to protect tenants.

Thanks. It kind of read that it only applied to landlords but never really spelled out a section for tenants, wanted to be sure.
