Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm going for an early Irish goal leading to a comfortable 3-0 win,

By saying going I mean hoping.

He could be playing LOI in 2 years for all we know. Has shown no great form so can’t start.

He could be, who knows, and unless Bamford declares we’ll be in a bad place for scoring goals all the way to 2025 at least.

Must win game for Kenny. Surprised he’s went 3 at the back again.

Please don't fuk it up Ireland.

He'd be mad to declare for us, tbh. To prolong your career, not playing international football is the way to go - especially if it's for a country you only have ancestral links with and have little hope of qualifying for anything in the short term! Also, he's already playing in the PL, so doesn't need to put himself in the shop window for a bigger move. The time to get Bamford was a few years ago when he was well away from the PL.

Good stat from OptaJoe, Bazunu is the first teenage keeper to start a WC qualifier since Jan Oblak back in September 2012.

    They look quite nimble

Saying that shows how little you know about irish football and the current state of the game/sqaud/fai finances.

    Ah, you know all.

I said it though, any reasonable opinion is allowed to be aired in an open forum

Shame that you can’t leave it as that, a contrasting opinion.

If their U21s is anything to go by then they always try to play ball for a small country. Now Azerbaijan will sit back and defend.

Well done George, you havent mentioned the eerie silence of the Aviva in 43 seconds.

That was a great ball in by kinight from that position. Good to see Browne attacking it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

Clark has been dirt so far. Lashing the ball away as soon as he gets it.

Orlando Bloom is a versatile actor

In the engine room of the Luxembourg national football team :)

They actually look technically. They can knock it around better than us so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,159 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

That was an odd set up from Luxembourg for that corner.

  • Registered Users Posts: 737 ✭✭✭athlone99

If Mick was in charge i would fully ecpect Luxemburg to dominate possession looking at the 1st 15 mins. Shows how far small nations with time, patience and investment can go.

    Bazunu looks quite composed.

I've a lot more confidence in him 20 mins in than I did with Travers during the week.

Lads what is the story with Doherty.

Top premiership level. Puts a green Jersey on looks an Irish level player.

Coleman looks seriously back into playing for Ireland.
    Class act.

Doherty can hardly get a look in for Spurs.

I’m going to say it. I felt this the last game as well.

Alan Browne gives the ball away far too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Some very poor passing so far. We’re lacking composure so far.

He hasn't looked good since his move to Spurs.
The system at Wolves definitely suited him well, but he's clearly not in as good form on top of that.

Physically doesn't look the player of the last few years, I wonder if he's carrying a persistent injury or issue.

Why did Ireland have to wear their away kit in Serbia while Luxembourg get to wear the same colours in Dublin?

Not a big deal but for a colour blind idiot like me it poses a problem.

Agree. Think the goal glossed over an average game

Might not have had to, could have been just marketing the away kit.

He was playing with technically good players from the continent at club level like Neves, Jimenez, Mouthino, and Jota. Who made up for his lack of technical ability, and those lads benefited from the amount of physical work that Doherty would get through.

Lads seriously talking up the keeper.

Looks comfortable. But he hasn't been tested in fairness.

O’Shea is spraying it about a bit more tonight. Playing very well.
