Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What a sad state of affairs for Irish football.

If I can take the green-tinted glasses off for a second, Luxembourg are a likeable team. Good attitude, no drama and well organised.

Gone are the days Ireland were described like that.

I am a big Kenny fan but this seems like he is freezing and doesn't know what to do. We are still doing the same thing that we started with.

He is putting on Long as I type. Take off a defender now. but no he takes off Robinson

How we are 42nd in the world is anyones guess.

After this campaign we'll be down a fair amount of places in the world rankings.

It will do no harm. Hopefully a reset and much needed improvement in how we produce young players.

We should blame English clubs for not developing our players for us any more.

    Glazers Out!

Take off a striker for a striker.

Yep thats how you chase a game Kenny.

This thread is depressing, 20 mins of a drop in possession and we are now worse than the Staunton era.

This will come good eventually, unfortunately I don’t think it’ll be in this WC campaign.

Who is the co commentator on RTE, he thinks Seamus Long is after coming on.

    Long hasn't scored since 2016.

Yes, it's a great time for one of those rare but beautiful things, a Shane Long goal!

    What's seldom is wonderful :)

We should be playing like we’re one down, almost kitchen sink time. Our slim hopes of Qatar WC will be over if we don’t get all 3 points here. A draw is no use.

Could blame global warming. Anything but the manager managing the team.

I don't think we can fault the effort of the players, but it all feels a bit lightweight tbh.

Pressure should be on Kenny, but there are huge underlying flaws in how players are developing in this country.

For all the stick McCarthy took for his selections, and for all the much lauded talk of a new era of youth under Kenny, what subs does Kenny bring on to pull out a win against Luxembourg? McClean, Brady and Long.

    Honestly.

I want a bit more energy from Kenny.

Kenny under all kinds of pressure now, no plan b at all
Why not put Coleman to right back and go 4 at the back

I desperately want Kenny to succeed but we should be allowed to call out how crap this is when it is, don't have to be mutually exclusive.

    It's Luxembourg. At home.

A performance that will reflect extremely bad on the team/Kenny as a whole.

I am a big Kenny fan but this seems like he is freezing and doesn't know what to do.

Kenny doesn’t exactly look authoritative as he lingers awkwardly around the edge of the players congregated on the sideline now

Can't wait to re-read these threads in a few years. Enough doses in here to vaccinate the whole country.

(And yeah it's definitely taking longer than this campaign)

If Kenny was to be sacked (won't happen, the FAI is broke) who would come in? What major differences could a new manager do with this squad?

Surely you want more energy from the players on the pitch Fix!

Brady is having a great game in fairness.

Honestly I'd take Big Sam as manager at this stage at least he has a style of play that might suit this level of player.

That's unfair, he did great things with Dundalk especially in Europe.

Players limited in what they are are not responding to Kenny time for a change if they can't put a performance in against this shower of crap he has to go. He got dunfermline relegated

I said this with 30 mins left!

Kenny is freezing up I think. He doesn't know what to do it seems and remember I want him to do well. Other than the subs we are doing the same thing

What is the bottom see you can achieve I either the Euros or WC qualification, that’s where we are at. It’s really not until for discussion.

I got that impression from his interviews. Figured it's just some media training needed but maybe it's more than that alright.

He looks out of his depth

    There's two Thills though
