A nice homemade carvery. Turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, baby boilers, garlic spuds, peas, mashed carrot and turnip. Guests loved it. A very enjoyable day and great company.

The only way and as I said stress free. I've often broke it out for post pub takeaway too. But if you have a few around for dinner it really makes things so much easier. Great for second helpings too.

Tableside here myself. Had a supremely lazy day here, pretty much the only thing that took effort was the Easter lunch I made for myself.

Also extremely happy that I was able to track down some white asparagus yesterday. Haven't had that since before my parents passed away if my memory serves me right. Used to be a regular spring staple in my family 😃

I absolutely loathed green asparagus until I discovered the white variety, hidden in sandwiches in Spain, and my loathing increased ten fold.

First of all, who in their right mind puts asparagus on a sandwich??? 😱 You have to have the right recipe. You peel and boil the asparagus, then drain and plate it, sprinkling with roast bread crumbs and some melted butter. Add new potatoes tossed in parsley and butter as well as some Black Forest ham on the side and you have a feast for the gods! 😍

Waking up again in Dubai, this place is bloody expensive, friend had some platinum membership offering 50% in certain places, otherwise our last two nights would have cost €200+€250. Normal restaurants and Brew Dog beer (@ €13). Plus the air quality is crap. Really hope in my future life I don’t end up living here.

Dubai and Las Vegas are probably the last places on Earth I would ever want to visit. Utterly false and artificial, totally devoid of any genuine character or culture...

Had a brilliant time at the Simple Minds Gig last night. Really made my Easter. 🥰 A good friend who is a huge fan had a spare ticket so I was so grateful to be given the chance to see them live, and they didn’t disappoint. Jim Kerr was on top form and the band were tight and superb. They played all the major hits from their glory days plus some superb material I hadn’t heard before. Came on stage at 8.30pm and played all the way through to 10.45. 😎👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶

Audience was a mix of original Simple Minds fans in their 50s, 40s and quite a few young uns in their early 30s and 20s too. 😁 We were standing close to the stage and had brilliant views but no pushing or any hassle.

Best gig since Garbage in Summer 2019! 👍👍
