contactless tapping stopped working

    hi, a few days ago my BOI debit card stopped working when trying to tap. I can still use the pin and chip function and there are sufficient funds in the account. What are the correct steps to take now? Should I apply for a new card? Is there a way to check if the function was disabled remotely?

    Thanks for reaching out to us here on Boards.ie.

    From time to time you will be asked to enter your PIN at a point of sale to continue to use the tap function of your card.

    Can I ask if you have the ability to use the card online? If not, have you received any texts/emails from our Card Security Team asking for you to confirm a transaction?

    yes, I am able to use my card online, and no I haven't received and text or emails from the security team.

If you have tried using the contactless function on the card following a chip and pin transaction and you are still experiencing difficulty we would recommend that you raise this by logging into your account, select services and scroll down to send us a message and our colleagues here will be more than happy to look into this further for you.
