I'm not seeing the common sense he displayed? Your ok with him forcing people to behave and live a certain way yet doesn't have to himself.

Nothing on 10:00 Today FM news, any idea when more information is being released?

They can, they're just disgusting shills.

They vote for these cretins every election and they're the reason this country is in the toilet generally.

This was widely reported and discussed at the time? This isn’t news

It’s 4 months later, after the event and after it was reported.

When you’ve wifi Jesus and the pirate flag Ilk trying to make this a thing again that should tell ya all you need to do

    It’s nonsense

I actually remember reading the Echo at the time as I worked in the area the event was held and thinking about all the people from the locality that I knew with covid. I said to the OH he's a brave man to go in there with no mask given the amount of local cases.

His grimace says it all, he wants to be a man of the people but he also knows it's risky business.

Look, in the last election, some of us made a mistake, it's OK. We can try again and this time we'll do it right. It can't be a coincidence that every single person in government is pure evil.

It was an illegal gathering for the rest of us without a sign off from the department of the Taoiseach.
There was also no food at the event so it wouldn't qualify as a restraunt, do we need to remind you there's no escaping covid without a substantial meal costing no less than €9.

It'll be ignored by our media as usual, too much risk to the public health as it would undermine the enormous sacrifices made by the Irish people in the face of a global pandemic.

What’s new in this ‘scoop’ from what was reported in December? That justifies it being a thing now

Hypocrisy but we're probably all guilty of lapses against Corona guidelines and laws.

Nothing story that hopefully his constituency remember but unlikely

I see Twitter is providing another proof that we still need independent traditional media to cater for those who are not complete idiots.

That he had sign off from the department of Taoiseach, told attendees to take off their masks and joked about having to mention social distancing in case the social media mafia got wind of it.
I don't believe that's what was reported, he took liberties with his office and used it for personal gain and undermined the huge effort people had made.

tbh I don't care if he an orgy but if your going to stand up on a plinth and preech to people you better be squeaky clean. His bib is dirtied by this and his position untenable.

Leo's leaking for the first 200 or so pages of the thread was also "a non story" and nothing to see here.

    Now there's a criminal investigation.

Maybe a criminal investigation is also needed here?

    How did he gain personally?

If there was it would have been launched in December

This isn’t even remotely close to Leo

This is a new blog running with a story from months ago to get traction from pirate flag patriots

He got to honor his father in a way most of have been denied for over a year. It's illegal for us to do what he did as you risk Gardai prosection.

This was in the media in December....it is april....
    Literally grasping at straws.

Not the least bit comparable to the leo story

Is he better off as a result?

Amazing that there are still people here defending Martin. The event was no different to someone organising a small house party. What Martin did was bad enough but defending him is just pathetic.

The timeline for the release of the Leo story and the following garda investigation was roughly 16 months?

There’s a video of him telling that woman to take her mask off and laughing about it. How is it nonsense when it’s literally on camera? Video evidence.

It is he got benefits the rest aren't allowed namely getting together on anniversaries/special occasions.

There was outrage in the media and from people at the time is my point....(leo story)
This was in media...in December...basically zero reaction.

The main question out of this is what political ambitions have Chay Bowes and Paddy Cosgrave.

Can you pull up an article that has the same detail about the event as this one from December?

Not that any of this matters but technically she's the one who took the mask off, so...

So nothing to do with Martin. He took his own mask off, they took theirs off. Unless you think there's a law about asking people to take them off?

The Taoiseach told her to, at a party against restrictions.
