Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Internal concrete wall vibrations

    Hi all

I live in a house i am happy with but the neighbour next has his kitchen cupboards on the concrete party wall. I studded the alcoves to eliminate the sound, however I have an internal concrete wall that attaches to the party wall so I could be sitting in the front room watching TV and hear sounds or more like vibrations nearly behind me although the wall is in front of me. Is there any way to eliminate this.

Was thinking can you drill random holes in lines on the internal wall close to the party wall and spray it with sound absorbing foam or even inject liquid rubber to absorb the vibrations. I asked a few people who work in construction and they have no idea.

One way that may eliminate it is to put in French doors, but I am not keen to do this.

Any one have experience in this?

Would the neighbors agree to you puttin french doors on the party wall?

Is it the doors slamming that's the problem?
I put in additional kitchen units 2 years ago and the hinges supplied were the soft close type - no more noise! I put them on the other doors too.....I got mine in Noyeks.

The other option is soundproof paint, it's a heavy coat that dampens acoustic transmission. A few options out there, but I've never used them. If it doesn't work then you can take it off.

Explain the situation to your neighbour and ask would he consider installing some of these.
