Not up on the finer points, but why could Matsuyama drop there ? Was he not closer to the hole and I though you could only drop further. Like the other side of that lake, or back onthe fairway side.

Some commentary from Jaoanese tv. No clue what they were saying though

I think it would translate as “what dafuq are you thinking, Hideki”.

Old adage about the back nine at Augusta holds again

Who was the fella earlier with the quip about resetting the scores

Looks like Ewen might know more than him.

    Lateral hazard maybe

That's the end of that charge then

Jeez, was sure that was going to be one of those Augusta moments where he puts it within a few feet

Xander in the lake, with him in contention I think McGinley will be reminding us that his father is German

Xander bottles it again. Rarely disappoints unfortunately.

    Oh no

Xander bottles again - Bottled early in the round and then when he was out of it, started to play well and now that he's in the hunt another bottling

I said it, and I stick by it. It starts on Thursday, and every day is moving day, not Saturday

It’s been said every year for donkeys years. It’s not meant to be taken literally. Maybe you didn’t know that though.

    Mad moment from xander

Complete bottle job by Xander, such a shame, if he'd put it close on 16 the pressure on Hideki would've been something else

He’s been in good positions so many times in big tournaments and rarely seems to finish the job. Always seems to get off to a slow start in the last round like he did today.

Maybe if there were 2 or 3 shots between 6 or 7 players, then it would be applicable. Its like when a soccer team is 2-0 down and score, the commentary is always, the game is on now. Its just a silly cliche.

Everyone seems to have selected reverse gear.

Zalatoris wouldn’t want to be leaving the course just yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,544 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

Well at least a mark has been posted!

    Great play from Zalatoris

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

Xander is still talking to himself walking up the fairway. Thinking, WTF just happened on the last hole?

The only drama now will be if matsuyama and schauffle start boxing the heads off each other on the 18th

Ah feck, wanted that in the middle of the green so I could head off to bed. Now I'll have to see this bunker shot.

This is not being won in style by Matsuyama, should he limp over the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,775 ✭✭✭Dr. Bre

Lucky he can afford a five !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,886 ✭✭✭✭Roger_007

This final day of the Masters will not live long in the memory for the quality of play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 337 ✭✭What.Now

wouldn't it be fun if he was given a 2 shot penalty for the bunker shot:confused:

    STFU

I'm delighted Matsuyama has won. But what an anticlimactic finish.

well he would I would say as endorsements are way more than 2 mill

I’ve seen lads more excited than Hideki at winning the monthly medal.

    He wouldn't

Either way, that wasn't the context within which that moronic statement was made..

Chuffed for Matsuyama, a humble man with prodigious talent. And Happy Gilmore's caddy is a major winner in waiting.

Butch Harman said golf is the greatest game in the world, and with people with more money than sense lining up to pay 3 grand a lesson off him, I'd say he's right.

Matsuyama played the last 4 holes 3 over par. Disappointing end. Lucky in some ways, but glad he won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,544 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

Zalatoris the only player to break par in every round
