    Hi,

Shortly going to be in the market for a new TV. Just waiting on an extension to be completed (it’s new home).

Have my heart set on an oiled but it’ll be going beside a window so I don’t know if it would be bright enough - I’ve been told they’re very dark.

I currently have a 55” Philips ambilight which is LED.

Would I be better going for QLED instead of OLED?

Also, have an TV4K plugged into it. So not that interested in android operating system or smart features. Is it possible to just get a display panel?

    Hi OU812,

    Thanks for the post!

The OLEDs are definitely the best panels to go for for picture quality as they are much better than the QLEDs. The QLEDS do have better brightness but not by a huge amount. We have QLEDs and OLEDs on display on a bright shop floor and the OLEDs still stand out. I also have an OLED at home and it's opposite our front window but I haven't had any issues with the brightness.

There are no TVs which would just be a display panel unfortunately, all of them will include smart features built in.

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

I’m leaning toward Sony. For some reason not mad on the LGs (I know they’re the leader in this area). Any suggestions on models to take a look at?
