    Queen Victoria was known as the grandmother of Europe because i think in most of the royal families in Europe that exist today, one of her children was married into them. King Christian IX of Denmark was called the father in law as his children did something similar.

    It was in fact illegal under international law, as it wasn't authorised under by the UN. Imagine if there was a terrorist attack in Russia ( by mostly Saudi Arabians) and then the Russians invaded Afghanistan. Same rules apply.

    Some of the archive footage around the time of his marriage and the coronation is pretty cool.

    I must say, the Queen was a good looking woman back in her youth. Philip was punching :D
