You think going to foreign lands and slaughtering brown skinned people is something to be proud of?

Is it okay if they're not brown skinned?

    Very odd outlook.

That's a very simplistic outlook on what was a complicated geo political issue at the time.

    It's not complicated.

The US started an aggressive war on Afghanistan.

    A war crime.

There will always be apologists trying to explain away mass murder though.

Great craic hearing the bbc “explain away” his various gaffes as the signs of an active mind slightly bored of royal life lol

    Slightly bored and mischievous

    Certainly not racism oh no

    For what reason?

Why would any of us on here want to commit war crimes?

The news of his death seems to have impacted you quite badly. You’re even more surly and bad tempered than usual.

The queen must be very upset at the death of her cousin/husband

    Were they related?

I wonder what they will do with all his old clothes? Might turn up in the local charity shops in a few months time.

Had the same great great grandmother, queen Victoria
So, like 3rd cousins or something
Probably most of Europe's royal families are related to her, she had a lot of children!

The two are both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria. so that make them 4th cousins or something.

I'd like to see you pilot an apache helicopter or lead a recce platoon in Afghanistan.

I wouldn't even try because I don't like bombing innocent children

No, and I never said that so why do insinuate it?

Being against war crimes means one is surly and bad tempered? What an odd way of seeing the world.

Queen Victoria was known as the grandmother of Europe because i think in most of the royal families in Europe that exist today, one of her children was married into them. King Christian IX of Denmark was called the father in law as his children did something similar.

Yes, but I don't know about the legalities of it. Can you explain those?

It was in fact illegal under international law, as it wasn't authorised under by the UN. Imagine if there was a terrorist attack in Russia ( by mostly Saudi Arabians) and then the Russians invaded Afghanistan. Same rules apply.

Well that was a funny joke. Also they probably weren't expected to hear it I suppose. being deaf.

Some of the archive footage around the time of his marriage and the coronation is pretty cool.

I must say, the Queen was a good looking woman back in her youth. Philip was punching :D

Philip was very handsome too, and very much masculine. He apparently had no trouble attracting the ladies.

Can anyone explain the Jedward thing? They've blocked me on twitter.

Were they mocking Phillip? After all their "be kind" stuff?

    Talk about axe to grind.

The person who died served with distinction in ww2 fighting the axis. How about discussing that?
