Al Gore must be sick counting his money at this stage

Your great grandchildren will be paying a lot more if the world doesn’t do everything possible to mitigate man made climate change.

Currently the oil industry get €5 billion dollars a year in subsidies globally every single year.

World basically stopped for a year and the numbers barely changed, you've been found out, own it

Rich white men control the majority of the worlds wealth.

Not totally true any longer so another myth

Lol! Carbon that’s been pumped into the atmosphere from the industrial revolution and you expect things to change in one year!?
This is what your dealing with!

So how many years of Ethiopian level poverty in a cold climate do you suggest?

It's great to see so many socialists on this thread though who don't want certain luxuries confined to the very rich.

Why don't the greens give grants to people to not have children?

Sure if they're more about the planet than it's people, they should be happy for humanity to die away.

I prefer not to create as much mess as the next person but I find these single issue, ideology driven parties such as Greens look out for themselves their own affluent urbanite peers and fcuk everyone else.
    All stick and no carrot.

The Greens can bring in a new policy of getting rid of the children's allowance. No need to give grants.

Children's allowance was peanuts when families of 10 were common, it has no connection to family size

For what? I’m not suggesting anything.

The Paris climate talks were a failure. The agreement that came out of it was nothing but a meaningless PR stunt. Kenny was reflecting the reality that the agreement was just a load of nonsense.

Enda and Trump were right in your opinion no point in even trying.

I'm at the stage, I would nearly consider moving it's so bad. I literally smell burning wood in my bedrooms at night and it just makes me cough and my eyes sting.

I had words and was more or less told to politely that I should mind my own business.

So much for 21st century Ireland. I shouldn't have to be worrying about air quality in this day and age.

It's had a huge negative impact on my quality of life. I've HEPA air filters running all night in the bedrooms, including tonight trying to prevent me waking up with a cough. I can't leave the windows shut entirely as it just gets too stuffy.

I never had this problem before this 'plague of stoves'.

They were the most poorly thought out policy I've ever come across. It might be suitable for very low density housing in the middle of nowhere but it should never, ever have been allowed in cities or towns.

It's the same with the drive to diesel, more so on the continent. The air quality in some of the bigger cities like Paris plummeted as a result of that.

You can report the issue to the EPA and see what they say.... But the government need to be informing citizen of the dangers of poor air quality, in reality poor air quality has and will kill far more then covid. If you want things to change a vote for FF and FG is a complete waste.

    What numbers ?

Emissions or estimated emissions as measurement seems to be quite haphazard,

The Greens are hardly a working class party. I'm sure they get hardly any working class votes if any at all.

What poor are you talking about? Do poor people take multiple flights a year or something?

Wrong. Trumps opposition to the Paris agreement was just another PR stunt. He wasn’t truly worried that the agreement would hamper the US in a significant way.

Kenny saw the agreement for what it was.

The agreement is damaging. Countries can continue to destroy the environment whilst claiming that are great for following the agreement. Fake agreements are not what we need.

    Yes the poor

They hadn’t a chance before Ryanair

    Cattle boat to Holyhead

Maybe Eamon wants us back there

I guess my understanding of the word poor is different to yours. Poor people never fly anywhere. God love the poor only being able to fly Ryanair.

If the “poor” can afford a flight to go on a holiday then they aren’t poor are they.

Our definations of who is poor and what poverty is very subject.

Am I poor because I don't own a car or have health insurance?

You could be earning 200k a year and not have a pot to piss in dur to a high mortgage or massive car loan etc.
    It’s all relative.

The Greens are Quasi-religious in their judgement of others, not surprising that their parliamentary party seems to be filled with people who 40years ago would have been destined for the religious orders,

There’s also a lot of decent aul skins that just wanna reduce pollution, improve health, and protect nature.
Maybe not in the parliamentary party but certainly those that “follow” the greens.

Thats it. Margaret cash is wealthier than more than half of the country and has never worked a day in her life
