Has anyone been to Shrewsbury Test Centre in the RDS Simmonscourt Pavillion?

Is the entrance off Shrewsbury Road or Simmonscourt Road? The notification text shows the location on the wrong side of Shrewsbury Rd so I don't trust that completely.

Is there parking inside the RDS outside the Simmonscourt, or do we park on the street outside?

Answers - Entry Off Shrewsbury Rd, organised parking inside. in and out in 10 minutes. Free tissues.

Does everyone in house still have to isolate while awaiting results of test? Only the person getting tested has symptoms.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,460 ✭✭✭✭fits

Found this. Honestly it’s so hard to know what the rules are!

Close contacts who have been fully vaccinated and remain asymptomatic do not need to be tested or restrict movements unless specific circumstances apply4.

Two kids tested yesterday at 3:30 , negative result for one came through at about 4 p.m. today, still no result for the other, another child tested last week, negative result in 29 hours. Not sure at this stage on a Saturday night if the system still sends out results this late.

The result came in quite late, it was almost 9pm and negative.

Can anyone tell me if it’s ok to use the self referral system for a child or do I need to ring a gp. Have a preschool child with a fever

    Hey guys,

Had a positive antigen test and was sent for a PCR test. Just waiting on results now.

From what I’ve gathered a positive antigen test doesn’t always mean you have Covid.

So I’m just wondering has anyone had a positive antigen test but a negative PCR? Just curious as to my chances of testing negative.

    Thanks ☺️

Edit: should probably add I took two antigen tests last week as i did have symptoms and still do. They came back negative but I know it’s possible I may not have done the test correctly or for a false negative, etc.

Our youngest was tested yesterday 9am in Ashbourne. We are still waiting on his result 31 hours later.

This is the longest wait I've personally heard of, especially recently.

  • Registered Users Posts: 627 ✭✭✭Minier81

Hope you got the result from Ashbourne.

We were tested at 10.35 this morning in Dublin, was wistfully hoping we'd get result tonight. Will give turnaround when we get result.

Result just in. Test 10.35 this morning, result 21.08, Dublin 16 test centre. Pretty swift turnaround.

The text came through at 6 this evening so 33 hours, yeah a bit of a long wait.

He's negative though and that's what matters I suppose :-)

Back to school with him tomorrow!

Anyone know what kind of turn around time for tests in Blanchardstown/Ballycoolin test Centre?

  • Registered Users Posts: 130 ✭✭jelenka

Would anyone know how long it takes from positive covid test to get contacted by tracing team ? One of my kids tested positive ( tested 5.30 pm yesterday, positive result at 10am this morning )

  • Registered Users Posts: 130 ✭✭jelenka

We had positive result in under 20hrs

Edited as I realised more than 16hrs

31 hours and counting for a test result from Croke Park, no test results sent after 9pm so looks like it’ll be at 40+ hours if it comes back in the morning.

Knew someone tested last week in the same location who got results back in 22 hours, must be more of a demand this week

Anyone know during what hours they give out Covid test results ? I got tested yesterday morning. Not sure if it will take longer to get a results due to the bank holiday weekend.

Hi. Does anyone know if tests can distinguish between antibodies from vaccines, and those from catching the disease ? A friend MAY have covid, even though he is fully vaccinated. I have had the shots too, but am self-isolating for now anyway.

Can HSE tests be used for going to the restaurant?

I have 2 adult friends fully vaccinated who caught it in recent weeks (and spouses also subequently did).Test just gives a positive or negative, that's all.

I don't think you need to isolate once you have a vaccine and no symptoms...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭Hippodrome Song Owl

You must isolate if positive regardless of symptoms, or if you have symptoms, even if vaccinated - so the friend here should be isolating if they have symptoms.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭Hippodrome Song Owl

The test (the HSE's PCR test) isn't for antibodies, it's for the virus itself. So vaccination status doesn't affect it. But if you have no symptoms then you don't have to get a test or isolate if you're vaccinated, whether your friend has it or not - unless you yourself have symptoms?

There are antibody tests available elsewhere privately but I don't know whether they can distinguish between vaccine immunity and naturally acquired immunity.

Well yes if positive. But if negative and no symptoms and vaccinated, you don't have to isolate.Apparently.

At 2.30pm on Saturday I booked a croke park for 3.40pm same day. Got result at 2.30pm on Sunday and a call at 6pm. Husband and son booked on Sunday at 3pm for tests in finglas at 4.20pm, results in at 6.45 pm yesterday. No calls yet.

All results positive. Both adults fully vaccinated, no socialising, noone we know has Covid, one of us works from home, the other alone in an office, noone else in the building. We got son tested because we feel the only way we could have caught it is if he got it in school. Two teens haven't been tested as fully vaccinated and masks in school and no symptoms. Husband and I have mild colds and taste and smell affected.

Anyone tested in Ardee recently? Have a test at 2 p.m today and ideally I'd like the results before 3 p.m tomorrow as I can't really afford to miss too much time off work if possible.

    Hi,

If you book a self referral test on the hse website and do a covid test in one of the hse test centres, when does your gp get your covid test result, would they get your test result before you do?

    Thanks
