Anyone bought a house in Ireland while living abroad?

    Thankfully I haven't had to be in the position to try and buy in Ireland.

    But I feel I'm being naïve when looking into it...

    Currently own in the UK. But I'm assuming if I came back to Ireland, I would:
    -be starting a credit history from scratch
    -not be considered a first time buyer

    If I'm starting a credit history from scratch, even with a decent deposit (circa 60 to 100k), I take it I would still need 3 years of squeaky clean records?

    Just wondering if anyone has moved back and bought and what were the issues?
