Vrt on Motorbike imported from N Ireland

About the vat under 6000km thing. A 125 in N Ireland is 2012 with 5000km. Do the vrt people treat this as having to pay vat even if it’s 9 years old! And it’s an NI reg so is the mileage in miles or km? Is the vat payable based on what I paid for the bike or on their ‘market’ price?

This, you're being very wishful, what ever the bike cost new is what they'll charge the vat from.
Vats gone back up to 23% since last month too.
Just stick the extra miles on it at that few it makes literally 0 difference.

Try borrow a clock off a friend's bike and swap it over for the inspection. Then just swap back. Failing that get a clock from breakers yard.
