Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

His approach should remain the same, if he starts to defend that lead and go all negative then he could play right in to O’Sullivans hands. Granted there’s no guarantee that the latter will produce his A game either.

Well it seems the latter is producing his A game

    BEAST MODE!

Strange shot choice from McGill on that red in the first frame, he played it making sure the cue ball was heading towards the baulk area, this morning he was stunning those into the centre of the pocket.

    ronnie always better in evening.

anyone see the massive roll in the table when mark williams was rolling up to a red, the length of the table..white took a huge bend half way down the table...twice.

Breakneck speedster potting there by Ronnie, entertaining... huge frame coming up. McGill wins he’s got breathing space and 2 from victory, Ronnie wins he’s one behind.

Yeah I saw that earlier, mad stuff

McGill has started poorly. I think his real level is starting to show through and he's like a rabbit caught in the headlights. In fairness, his last couple of safeties have been good.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,135 ✭✭✭dougm1970

on bbc they defended the table, the first time, saying it wouldnt be the table, it was likely a hair or something on the table......second time they didnt say anything about the table

Williams and Ronnie need to grow the fook up..

    Two sad attention seekers...

That’s an unforgivable miss on the red from McGill

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Shocking miss by McGill and unforgivable as Hendry said. It gets worse on the replay.

It's just the odd shot like that from McGill, he can perform at the high level obviously but it's these unforced errors that drag him down.

Joe Johnson: 'he needs O'Sullivan to miss'
    Yes Joe, he does

  • Registered Users Posts: 314 ✭✭murtyd17

    And Ronnie did miss!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,484 ✭✭✭DelBoy Trotter

Massive let off for McGill. Poor by Ronnie on the pink

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,484 ✭✭✭DelBoy Trotter

And now a massive let of for Ronnie!

And this obnoxious crowd will likely get to McGill. Another bad miss, had no control on the cueball.

Mcgill might as well just concede now. He's done.

  • Registered Users Posts: 194 ✭✭FR01

McGill wasn’t missing those reds this morning - he’s feeling the pressure now

Joe is hilarious to listen to. Gas thing is he says so much stuff he ends up sounding like he is correct. There was another one when McGill missed and left Ronnie a mid range red. Joe says will that mistake from McGill give McGill a chance, it sometimes happens... And Ronnie missed it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

It's starting to look like another capitulation, similar to Higgins opponent in the first round.

They're not uncharacteristic misses though Seema. It's the norm anytime I see him. His first 2 sessions were uncharacteristic in how well he played.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

McGill is starting to have the air of a punch drunk boxer. He is swinging and the punches are not landing.

Christ, I just realised I have turned into Phil Yates after just an hour of listening to to him :o

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

That first red, terrible miss, but i think he's trying to steal a bit of the pocket to hold the white and misjudged it. They do tend to drop in off the far jaw, but it was unforgivable really. Second miss was tough enough one. Feel he nearly has to win this frame now or it'll start getting away from him. God, this sport!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Shocking stuff from McGill. And lucky Ronnie to get away with his own miss.

Phil Yates would be proud of that one !

And all of a sudden the doubts start to creep into your mind, you can’t see the shots and as Hendry said it’s a horrible place to be when you’re struggling. Whether he wins this frame of not McGill needs the interval.

Is there any rule against McGill taking a toilet break mid frame? That is what he needs to do get out of there and reset.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Head is fully gone now

You'd be waiting a few hours if you were relying on McGill to win this frame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

McGill in bits and everything going Ronnie's way.

Even at a reduced capacity the loutish element that O'Sullivan attracts is still there.

Yeah I thought that myself similar to some of the Alex Higgins/White fans.

Does not help McGill in his current state of mind, that is for sure.

Yeah, the lad who let out a big roar when he fluked the green and ref had to tell him to be quiet was uncalled for. Probably has a fiver on Ronnie and is sweating his bollòx off for it.

McGill not at the races but thats impressive from Ronnie. If McGill can sort the head out we could have a proper match on for the rest of the session

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,908 ✭✭✭✭Rothko

Feel like McGill had to take that last frame to settle himself down a bit.

I know they're an awful organisation, but surely the BBC are not going to end their coverage at 9 for old TOTP episodes. Especially with their hero Ronnie on. For everyone else sure.
