Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Straight as an arrow that red.
    Lovely cueing.
Parting the red sea did not work though!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Been a while since Murphy had won a frame in one visit. It was even more important that he didn’t give Selby the chance of playing for snookers and dragging out the end of the frame

What a red... Living up to his nickname.... noice

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,667 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

Mr Murphy has balls of steel... love the way he isnt giving up the fight.

Gwan Spud! Do it for the Irish :)

    Some bottle this boy :):):)

2 brilliant long reds followed by the blue, he is going for it now.
Hopefully wins this frame to make it more interesting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Shaun should have gone for the higher red and up for the blue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,834 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

How fast did that white slow and stop trying to get on the pink.?.. still think this is a weird table.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Jayus Murphy is sparking now. Has the eye in.
Back of my mind though he is liable to fluff an easy shot.

End of break this time no harm done. At least some sort of pressure on Selby now.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Very good safety from Murphy as well, for a change. Controlling the table.

Murphy’s cue ball control ultimately letting him down in this match. Score could be a lot different if he didn’t continually break down by losing position mid break. It’s not as if he isn’t getting the chances, because he definitely is.

Has to go on and win this won, put the pressure on Selby a bit

    I rest my case!

Big positional mistake again. Needs to win this frame. Pity the white just slid past the brown

He almost hits the ball 'too well' sometimes. To much power a 3litre cue action.

Feck all wrong with Murphy's long potting though.

How many more frames in this session can anyone tell me please?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Great stuff from Shaun. Next frame is so crucial.

The thing is though, he's breaking off.

    Fair play to Murphy.

    This is very entertaining.

    Ridiculous potting alright.

Another fist pump. Great to see a bit of emotion. Hopefully he's as fired up as he seems now. He did well to get back to 2 frames, hopefully wins the last one now and sets it up nicely for tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Love how Hendry and Trump are so engrossed in it. Top pros they may be. But they are snooker fans when all is said and done.

Last frame of the session. If Murphy wins it, it’ll be 13-12 going into tonight’s session and it would be very interesting

What TF is wrong with Shaun? It's beyond ridiculous at this point with his break-off and none of the pro's have said anything about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Selby must have ice in veins. Pressure is for tyres and all that...

Leaving that red on the break each time is so weird..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭hawaii501

Great pot by Selby but what is Murphy doing with his break again, surely must know by now that he's giving Selby a 'half chance' every time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 231 ✭✭kegg

Is Shauns couch not telling him about his bad break offs on purpose!?

They mentioned it earlier on BBC and said he would need to sort it out to stop leaving pots on for Selby. Not much more they can do or say about it tbf

Same as last night, the difference between 1 and 3 frames

Just about to post the same, he is leaving a red almost every time.

He’s very much second favorite now in this frame the way the balls are.

I don't remember that. I must have missed it. Was it on BBC?

Yes. It was just after he left an obvious red on. Think it was McManus who briefly mentioned he needed to do better with leaving balls on.

I dont think any studio pundits have mentioned or discussed it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,393 ✭✭✭raclle

That "finish him off" comment from someone in the audience  that should rile Murphy up if anything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,022 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Some asshole in the crowd there... "Finish him off". As if he's talking to the tv in his living room, and not out loud at the event in front of the player he's talking about being 'finished off'.

That sort of ignorant comment should see someone ejected imo.

Eurosport commentators have Selby as world champion already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

    Aww, damn it anyway!

    More good fortune for Selby.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,710 ✭✭✭✭walshb

What was Doherty thinking saying Selby could go for that red to right middle?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,022 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

That was a total disaster of a frame from Shaun, and totally unnecessarily.

Sure Ronnie had Murphy written off in the Semi-Final. That eejit Colin Murray was eulogising about Kyren, making up puns and platitudes.
There is a certain level of 'gobsh!tness', tabloid stuff on Eurosport that I don't like.

As for Ronnie great player he may be. Best player of all time etc. But sh!te pundit. Can barely speak, can't even say 'session' for example.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

In the tightest final is can only be 13-12 going into the final night. It's often 14-11. All to play for, but again, Shaun needs a strong start, he needs at least 3-1 before the interval tonight.

19 years since we had a final frame decider folks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,139 ✭✭✭Augme

Massive ve ask now for Shaun. Murphy almost seems resigned to defeat you'd feel.

    2002...

Epic final frame. One my fav crucible moments.

Next to wanting Ken to win in 1997, 1998 and 2003, I have not rooted for any player more to win..

Although Ken was never in it in 1998.

Yep Seán needs 3-1 minimum... Selby will be more that satisfied with 2-2.
