Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The games up...

Whatever about Ronnie, I could see Seby putting Hendry's 7 world titles under pressure.

Murphy has had a lot of those infuriating misses this match.

Selby getting every stroke of luck possible, quite uncanny.

Story of his snooker career. Looks like it might even cost him a comeback here. So disappointing.

Bingham was fluking pots all over the place in the semi final, it evens out.

Yet more good luck for Selby. Great pot sure, but jammy cannon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

How many times has he played 3 or 4 great shots and then slipped up on a gimme at this level...
    sligeach wrote: »
Ah Shaun, you can't be doing that.

It is typical of Murphy He has been like that for years getting the flashy shots and missing the easier one. And you wonder what caused it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

In for an early finish I'm afraid.

    That’s very poor from Murphy

Good man ref, telling them to shut up.

    Redeemed himself with that red

Shaun just hasn't played well enough throughout this match. Selby has had a run of the balls.

Shaun really has few feathers on his shots. Very quick cue action. Much quicker than Ronnie for instance.

Great break here mind. Keeps digging himself out

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭rolling boh

    cracking last break there

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,393 ✭✭✭raclle

Making hard work of this compared to Selby

Well done Shaun. Lovely shots in that break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,912 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Great clearance from Murphy 15-12 - blessed to get that second chance though.

Has to cut out the silly shots.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Phew! He desperately needed that!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,393 ✭✭✭raclle

Needs to win the next two I feel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,263 ✭✭✭alan partridge aha

Well done Murphy, get your game together. Selby playing ok but is beatable but Murphy has to eliminate stupid mistakes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 172 ✭✭xabi_a

I was always a Jimmy White and Judd Trump fan, just because of their potting power. But I'm slowly realising Murphy is pretty much in the same category. His potting is just incredible.

But yes he does have to cut out the silly misses.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭rolling boh

still a tall order to win though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭AllForIt

That was simply brillient by Murphy. Whatever happens I'm glad to see him going for it.

Murphy would be winning this game if he did not throw away those early few frames at the start of the match.

To say Selby had the run of balls is unfair. Murphy threw him a few handy frames.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

He would be up there with those two lads if had more belief, fight, and concentration. Thankfully has shown some of that in this tournament from nowhere really.
I would argue Murphy's technique is better than a White/Trump.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

The old saying you make your own luck and its magnified when your opponent is playing some very loose shots.

Murphy potting all the conceivable hard shots then screwing up on the simple ones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 217 ✭✭volono

Ken waffling on about how rattled Selby might be. God, he's up 3 frames, he's not nervous at all imo. He knows he's going to get chances and if needs be he'll go into the trenches to get over the line. Can't see anything but a Selby win and I really really don't want to see him to it!!!

They keep saying they're not but yes I'd definitely agree, the knuckles are way more forgiving than they where a decade or so ago
