Ah here now, they're taking them today and jabbing 18 to 34 next week
Also one million Pfizer and Moderna bought extra to spur this on
    Its all good

As an aside, I wonder why so many Romanians refuse to take the vaccines.

Its a legacy issue from Caeaucesu's forced vaccination schemes apparently

    It's a shame they didn't do that last week...oh wait! :)

The government have confused their own most it seems. :)

*p.s. Yes it is good if it is well organised and the uptake is there.

Strange. My local pharmacy is well organised and has been taking bookings for the last week or so. Absolutely no problems.

Well take a look at this.

    Pretend socialists. Ask their 'subjects'.

Part of a long list of true socialists. Routine coercion and a high body count are the telltale signs.

But they've been doing all 'last week' how ever is it a 'suprise'?

    For the unvaccinated over 50’s.

No surprise that any of those yet to be vaccinated wouldn’t be rushing to book.

Thankfully, the younger, unvaccinated are only too willing to book their vaccination.

    In answer to this:
Well he made an announcement on the radio this morning about younger people being able to go the Pharmacies to get a vaccine but it seems from the reports coming in that the Pharamacies weren't told of this and now they are being bombarded with calls from people looking for information on this and they are in the dark on it.

    YOU answered thus:

You are now trying to spin your way out of saying you were bluffing/lying.

I feel your pain, Frankie. The damned government is doing a great job and it hurts, doesn’t it?!

If they are doing such a great job why did you need to blunderbuss your way in to bluff/lie on their behalf?

All you need to do is back up what you said and show your local pharmacy offering this 'a week' ago.

No credibility Maryanne, that's the issue here. You will actually lie/bluff in an attempt (failed) to make the government look good.

Soz, Frankie. No need to attempt to make the government look good! They are go. They’re still in power and will be for another few years. Get used to it. You will appreciate it in time.

You bluffed/lied to do it Maryanne.

    Bottomline I'm afraid.

Wowsers. Delighted to see the yoot of today being so responsible.

Selective reading again. How did you miss all this at the start of the article:

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly made the announcement earlier today on RTɒs Morning Ireland programme. However, this was the first many pharmacists had heard of the new vaccine rollout development.

The Journal spoke to 12 pharmacies today, all of whom confirmed that the announcement this morning had been the first time they had heard official confirmation they were to begin administering the Janssen vaccine to those under 34.

All pharmacies had also spent most of their morning answering calls and speaking to customers about the vaccine and registration.

“We had to turn off the phones today, which means our vulnerable customers can’t get through to us because of everyone ringing in because of the vaccine,” said one pharmacist from Rathmines. “So, you know, we’re running blind at the minute.

“I was trying to contact someone and it took me ten minutes before I could get a free phone call. I had to head out and use my own phone in the end.
“And they’d had no discussion with us or anything.”

The pharmacy I linked to had their online tool ready for 18yr olds this morning
As far as I know it was the pharmacy union that negotiated the change
    So no surprises
I'd say its the non participating chemists that got a shock mainly today as every mammy under the sun had their 18 to 34 year olds (yes 34 Yr olds :D) ringing or visiting the chemist

Actually it's pharmacies who just found out they were participating,

Maybe The Journal should have asked pharmacists who had actually prepared for the job!

So……They DID know that it was in the pipeline. Just weren’t prepared. Tough.

Is that the best you can come up with?

They should have been told before it was broadcast on the airwaves. You can't prepare when you are not kept in the loop.

They probably knew it was coming but thats all. I knew it was coming down the line but I had no further info on what vaccines would be used and when it would start.

    Well that's their unions fault
I rang all 3 of my local ones this morning and all three were taking names
    One directed me online
I wonder how many the journal contacted before they found their 12
Honestly Good news stories like this and negative crap splattered about
Most important thing today is jabs are accelerating big time now
